Chest Waders

As you begin to gear up for another fishing season take a look at your chest waders. If you find that they’re a little more worn than you thought shop our wide selection of waders at low prices. But before you do, consider the following points that our fishing experts have learned over the years.

Waders for Every Season
If you’re getting out for Fall fishing, starting very early in the season or fishing a traditionally cold stream you’ll want to consider chest waders that are built for cold conditions. First, select waders that are well insulated and provide hand warmer pockets. These will allow the avid fisherman to warm up quickly and stay warm even in wet and cold conditions.

Next think about the type of movement you’re going to be making while on the stream. If you’re a fly fisherman you’ll likely be walking up and down the stream quite a bit so you’ll want to make sure you have boots that have excellent traction and won’t slip on the often slick rocks below the water’s surface. Consider buying chest waders with boots built in instead of stocking foot chest waders – where you’ll have to buy boots separately.

If you often take a lot of gear out on the water with you, consider buying waders that offer a fold out work table from the chest area where you can easily change lures and perform other tasks. Some of our chest waders feature this fold out pocket, as well as a convenient fly rod holder that makes it easier to do the work you need to.

There are obvious qualities in chest waders that you’ll want (like waterproofing and great stitching) but we’ve outlined a few of the often overlooked ones above. Whether you’re gift giving, just starting your fishing hobby or replacing old, worn waders, consider the above aspects prior to purchasing your next set of chest waders.
