Returning an Item

Customers can return items with 90 days of purchasing the item in-store or delivery of your online order.

Returns can be taken to any store location nationwide, no matter if the purchase was made in-store or online.

Items purchased online can be returned by mail. Items purchased through our Buy Online, Pick Up in Store program must be returned to a DICK'S Sporting Goods store.

Returns to the Store

Feel free to return items purchased in a store or online at any of our store locations nationwide.

Just make sure to bring with you:

  1. The items along with all original packaging, including all paperwork, parts and accessories
  2. The receipt (for store purchases), packing slip and ship confirmation email (for online purchases), Ready for Pick Up Email or Pick Up Confirmation Email (for Buy Online, Pick Up in Store purchases).
  3. The credit card or gift card used for purchase

Some items automatically come with a free return shipping label included in the package:

For all other items, a pre-addressed USPS return label is included in the package. When using this label for your return an $8.00 shipping charge will be deducted from your refund:

You can also choose not to use the provided pre-addressed return label for $8.00, and instead mail back your purchase using the shipping service of your choice.

To mail in your return:

  1. Repackage items in original packaging, including all paperwork, parts and accessories
  2. Remove all extra labels from previous shipping on the outside of the box
  3. Complete the Return Reason Form on the packing slip and enclose in the box
  4. Apply the provided return label to the outside of the box* OR address the box to:

  5. Send package via USPS if using a DICK'S-provided label, or bring package to the shipping service of your choice and pay for postage (UPS or Insured Parcel Post is recommended)**
  6. Track your return shipment through My Account at DicksSportingGoods.com if using a provided return label, or make sure to keep the tracking number provided when using the shipping service of your choice and track via their website

    *Please make sure the original label provided is used (not a copy)
    **Return Shipping charges must be paid. DSG does not accept packages sent as Cash On Delivery (C.O.D.)

Note, the packing slip received may vary from image shown above. You may receive a label that can be mailed via UPS or USPS. The use of any DICK?S-provided label will incur an $8.00 charge.

Returns by Carrier Pick Up

Typically items requiring pick up by a carrier are oversized/weight. To return an item that requires carrier pick up:

  1. Contact Customer Service to arrange carrier pick up of your item
  2. Repackage items in original packaging, including all paperwork, parts, and accessories
  3. Complete the Return Reason Form on the packing slip and enclose in the box
  4. Remove all extra labels from previous shipping on the outside of the box
  5. Place package at the front door for the shipping driver
  6. You must be present when the carrier picks up the item

Returning Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items

If an item arrives damaged, defective or is not the correct item you ordered, contact Customer Service to have a free return label sent to you or to arrange pick up if the item was delivered via a carrier service. You are also welcome to return these items to a store if you prefer.

You will be refunded the purchase price as well as any applicable taxes and shipping costs.

Refund for Your Return

Refunds are provided in the original form of payment for the purchase price of the item, including sales tax, and will be issued within 30 days of us receiving the return. Note that shipping charges are not refunded as part of the return (unless the item is being returned due to being damaged, defective, or incorrect).

If payment was by gift card or gift certificate, the return will be refunded back to the original gift card or gift certificate used.

When a ScoreCard reward certificate was redeemed or other discount applied to the purchase, your refund will be for the amount you paid for the item. A new ScoreCard reward certificate can be issued by contacting the ScoreCard team.

Returning a Product under Warranty

Warranty paperwork is included in the packaging of many products or is often available on the manufacturer's website. Please contact the manufacturer directly if you have any warranty questions not answered in your item's paperwork.

Return Requirements

DICK'S Sporting Goods reserves the right to limit or decline returns that don't meet the following requirements:

  • Returns must be received within 90 days
  • Items being returned must be new and unused
  • Refunds are provided in the original form of payment
  • In store purchases can only be returned in a store (they cannot be returned by mail)
  • Returns or exchanges without the original receipt/packing slip will be offered a merchandise credit for the lowest price or offered the manufacturers' contact information
  • Returns with a gift receipt will be offered a gift card or an exchange

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Customized/personalized items and autographed collectibles
  • Firearms and ammunition
  • Software or electronic media, including CD-ROMS and computer games, once the product's packaging is opened
  • Baseball bats and gas or electric scooters once the product's packaging is opened or factory seal is broken
