Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT Elliptical from a GREAT Company(s)! Yes, there are two great companies at play here! Company that produces the machine has a stellar reputation for customer service and standing behind their product! Purchased from Dicks on a Sunday, Professionally delivered, assembled, and using the machine on Wednesday! Dicks Sporting Goods REALLY came through on the value and delivery of this purchase!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from work out wise I would rate it a 5, just a few things bring it down for me I've only had it for 2 weeks so this is more of a first impressions. pros - very quite - very smooth (everything has a bearing in it my last one had brass bushings in a couple places that became loud over time)- great work out with good even resistance all the way through the cycle - low step on height I have low ceilings in my basement and this was a big deal for me Cons - the buttons are not lit up (I work out in a basement with the lights off and a projector on it is hard to see what I'm doing, but as the second week started I've gotten a little more familiar with the controls so maybe not too bad)- the Bluetooth control is neat when it works (I have a nexus 7 second generation and I occasionally have to reboot to get it to work)- the handle heartrate monitor does not always work well - requires Bluetooth chest strap for some functions, when I contact AFG to find out the type they validated their function with they never wrote back. (I'm a little worried about which one to get given the issues with the nexus 7 not connecting well to the blue tooth)I got it on sale for 999.98 with free delivery and overall I consider it a great buy

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke in the first week after the third workout, heartbeat monitor doesn't work: Junk I am only more disappointed by the absolute waste of time and money than I am by the performance of this machine. Inside, the magnetic tensioner housing is made of a cheep plastic and the servo that tightens the bike cable also is constructed of cheep plastic gears. So you have a heavy duty looking 300 lb piece of equipment that has cheep Chinese plastic as internal parts that are the weak link. Let me say that initially, I was blown away at how smooth and quiet this machine was. It had a real feel of durability and precision; however, the mechanism inside the machine that controls resistance broke in one week (four 30 workouts!) and now just makes a clicking sound from start up and no resistance is applied.Heartbeat monitor never worked

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow is all I can say! We were recently searching for an Elliptical for the house, as my wife struggles to get to the gym with her work schedule. We looked at all of the major brands, tested out a few and thought we had found one at another store we liked. Fortunately they were out of stock, so we looked online and found this in stock at our local Dick's store. Looking at the reviews and features we took a ride to check it out. There was another AKG model on the floor, but clearly a way lesser model. We tried and it was nice but very basic. So I asked the guy at the store and had to show him the website on my phone as he didn't even know they carried this one. Apparently they had just received one in stock the day before so none were set up. Ours was actually the only one they had in. Taking a chance entirely based on the other reviews, we purchased it without trying it.Like my review title wow is all I can say! This machine is awesome, and for the money (we paid $999) I am shocked at the build quality, not to mention all of the features. Even without the Bluetooth this would be a great machine. We haven't even used that feature yet to be honest. The build quality as mentioned is clearly first rate, but be forewarned, this is one heavy heavy mother. If you plan on having to move it to use it every day, be prepared. The flywheel is 23# which is heavier than most home machines which are in the 20# range, and all of the steel is heavy gauge steel on this thing. For reference, when you buy it the box will fit in most SUV's but it is a 2 or 3 man job getting in and out, and getting into the house is another project altogether. It probably weighs 350 pounds in the box.Assembly was fairly easy and I only had to back track on one step. Overall it took me approx 2 hours, but that includes a significant amount of time un-boxing it and bagging up the packing materials for disposal. (Machine is well packed)Using it is a breeze, it is smooth, and very very quiet. Feels just as good as any machine I have stepped on in the gym. You won't be disappointed. Overall highly recommend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had some assembly issues but very sturdy machine...happy so far! I did a good bit of research before purchasing this elliptical. Having a history of using gym elliptical for many years, I wanted something close to gym quality, not some rickety sqeaky machine that I'd be annoyed to use. I tried all the elliptically in store (including Sole and Nordic track) and this one was especially sturdy and smooth. Ran into some assemble issues and had two bolts break due to mis-assembly (note: the lower and upper handlebars have very hard to see "L" and "R" stickers that are not pointed out in instructions) BUT the service under the warranty was hassle-free (which was a reason I strayed away from Nordic track...they got bad reviews on service) not to mention this machine has a great warranty for the price. So I've used it a handful of times and very pleased. I think it may need some grease (which they recommend on the moving parts) but otherwise it's great. Actually pretty challenging even on first setting (I'm out of shape...) so I look forward to building up to higher incline/resistance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible My husband and I purchased this as a gift to ourselves for Christmas. Used it for about 5 seconds and the arm connected to the foot peddle broke. Made a call to AFG they sent a new part and a service tech to install the new arm. Well guess what, my husband went to workout on it again, and the arm broke AGAIN.....I am so disappointed. On the same day it was fixed. Horrible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product We enjoy the elliptical so far. Very sturdy and stable. Very good connectivity. The hill climb program is especially good and tough. Warning though - its very big and heavy and hard to assemble. Got this delivered on Christmas and had 4 big guys to help me carry it down to basement. Very tough to do delivery and set up with two people for this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine We bought a 2nd AFG elliptical when we bought a new house because we loved are first AFG elliptical. The blue tooth is great as is the stability, size. Both my wife and I love it and use it 4-4 times a week.
