Rated 5 out of 5 by from Birthday Day Gift I got this Kayak for my Husband as a birthday gift, and he LOVED IT, i already knew he would, as both my Father and Brother have this, they couldn't ask for a better, more stable kayak.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good entry level kayak I have had this now for a few weeks, I have had it out a total of 6 times already, I've had it in a large lake where it is smooth and very stable to the point I can stand up confidently in smooth water and paddle gently. I've had it in a river where it was also smooth and I comfortably did a 9 mile trip. I've had it in a faster flowing creek with a bit of Rapids where it handled decently. Now my take is this, overall I would recommend it to casual people looking to hit the lake and/or a deeper river flowing smoothly. It is a 12 foot kayak that isn't the easiest to turn super fast like needed in Rapids and faster flowing creeks. Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Purchased this kayak in 2013 have fished it, hunted with it, enjoyed & used from the Catskill Mountains to the Great South Bay of Long Island. Very stable well built and a great deal! Dual rod holders, locker storage. Added bow Rod holder works perfect for my needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Price, nice tracking, mediocre product for anglers I am an experienced kayak angler. I purchased this kayak because I wanted a new one. The sale put it at the right price point. It tracks very well, but the cockpit is a little narrow. There isn't a lot of storage, so I wanted to use an anglers crate (milk crate). There is also NO WAY to strap on and level a crate on the back of this kayak. The grooves built into the kayak's in the rear indeed compartment don't match anything. Even with the floating compartment on the back, you can't make a crate work.I wanted an anglers kayak. This is nice for simply going for a ride, but I do not recommend it for a functional anglers rig.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not perfect. I am pretty new to kayaking and have a couple of sundolphin journey 12 foot sit on tops. I found this one to immediately be a little tippier than I was used to and the front end has a mind of its own. The kayak has great storage and is gorgeous to look at. I added a high back seat to it as a throw in and 5 hours later down a river my back and behind were in great shape so it is a comfortable ride. I wouldn't recommend it to beginners because I tried out my friend's and they are slightly more stable and have better tracking. Someone with some experience will find that they work just fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great beginners kayak I bought two of these about 18 months ago when I became interested in kayaking. These are great beginner kayaks. Very stable with a roomy cockpit. IMO this boat is meant to be a day tripper as storage is minimal and pushing the hull through the water for more than three to four hours becomes taxing. Boat tracks straight so no need for a rudder. Have done up to 11 miles with a midway point break with no problem. Seat back adjustment is great. Seat bottom gets a little stiff after about two hours. Fixed that with a foam gardener's kneeling pad from HD or Lowes. As I have found I like kayaking I am moving on to a longer and narrower boat but at 3 times the price as this one. Point is I would have hated to buy the bigger boat first to discover kayaking was not for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just bought the Eagle Run kayak, and I LOVE IT!!! I just bought the Eagle Run kayak on sale for $427.00. I was looking at getting the Old Town Guide 119 canoe for fishing and hauling all my gear, but Dick's Sporting Goods no longer had the canoe, so I went with this kayak, and I'm glad I did! It has enough storage for my stuff, and it's fairly comfortable. I've heard some complaints about the foot pegs and the seat, but if you're in a kayak long enough, your butt is gonna get sore after a while. (it's a KAYAK, not a sofa!) I took it for it's "maiden voyage" yesterday. The temperature was around 38 degrees, and it tracked very well and was really stable, even in rough water. I didn't fish from it yet...I just couldn't wait to try her out. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I've been kayaking for about 25-30 years now so I feel I can make an honest review on this kayak. The hull may not be as thick as other kayaks (I have a Perception Swiftwater 10.5) but if you're careful, and don't drag it around, it should last ya a long time. The weight isn't too bad, so carrying it would be my advice! If you're "on the fence" about buying this kayak, DON'T BE...BUY IT...YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Can't wait to fish out of this thing!!!
