Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad to have this on my hip again! I received my first wave as a high school graduation present when I was working as a Girl Scout camp counselor and working on my family's dairy farm. It was useful so many more times than I could believe. I moved about a year ago and some how in the move my leatherman disappeared. I have completely torn apart my apartment several times could never find it so for my birthday this year, my mother gave me the money to purchase another. I work in a green house in the summer and it comes in very useful and it's also great to have on me for random things that I encounter out in the world. I do recommend getting the leather sheath for it if it is something that you are going to be wearing extensively as the velcro on the nylon sheath will wear out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4.5 Out of 5 This is a short and sweet, to the point tool. No frills, no fancy coatings(option to duracoat yourself). The tools are strong enough for on the spot situations. Knife is suprisingly good! About as good as any breasting knife or caper. Only issue while feeling solid and durable is being "too" solid. Its somewhat hard to open up alot of the tools but im sure with time like any tool it'll break in and be smooth a butter. If not who cares. It will still serve you with years of dedicated use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wave very solid multi-tool. i have 3 'problems' with it.1. when using the pliers i sometimes get my skin pinched between the handle. the lack of spring requires you to hold it open or in position.2. small screw driver (one side flat head, other side philip) the flat head side cracked from normal pressure. ill be able to shave it down and make a new head but it will be a pain.3. i have a Wave for myself and bought one for my father a year later- they both get a little jammed when opening and closing. i called up leatherman and they said to apply WD-40, for some reason it made it worse. i tried 'breaking it in' and it didnt do anything.it is still very functional.over all great buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The most popular for a reason The Wave is Leatherman's most popular tool, in a Toyota Camry or Cessna 172 sort of way. It's not perfect for any one thing, but it's pretty good at nearly everything. It's a little heavy for everyday carry, but it is possible. I would recommend belt carry in it's included sheath. Relegated to a vehicle or tool box, it's a great tool. While I store mine in my bug-out bag, I find I use it a lot around the house. My EDC Skeletool isn't as ideal for some tasks. The Wave's pliers are much better for bending tasks, for example.I like the bit driver on the Skeletool better, and the can opener on the Wave is difficult to deploy, but otherwise, there aren't many multitools out there as capable as the Leatherman Wave. If you don't have one, get one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multitool Excellent product! Best multitool you can buy. It has all of the standard tools that a multitool should have but unlike like most multitools the knives are actually sufficient. They are sturdy, sharp, and long enough for practical usage. Also the scissors work well surprisingly. I really like the mini flat head as well for use with glasses. All around amazing multitool

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very solid product Does everything I've ever needed it to do. Very well put together, and feels solid and durable in the hand (much more so than Gerber tools, in my limited experience). The knife blades come very sharp and have held their edge quite well. The pliers are solidly constructed and well suited to all sorts of tasks, which is the main advantage that multitools have over something like a Swiss Army Knife. The wire cutters are fine for anything up to like a coat hanger; for tougher jobs you will probably want a heavier tool. The minor tools all work very well; there's nothing extraneous and no wasted space. The sheath is fine. Velcro is a bit loud, but isn't that always the way. A few minor quibbles: - There is very little to distinguish one side of the tool from the other, meaning that if you want to use one of the knife blades, you will open the wrong one roughly 50% of the time. Kind of annoying. - The knife blades are nice to have and work fine for day-to-day stuff. That said, they are clearly not designed for a lot of heavy cutting, and the attachment point feels pretty breakable. If you do a lot of cutting you might consider just getting a pocketknife and carrying that as well. - The minor tools (scissors, screwdrivers, etc) are packed in pretty tight, and can be stiff to open. - It's not the most ergonomic grip in the world. Not uncomfortable, exactly, but there are a few little ridges sticking out, and if you're using the knife a lot your hand will be tender the next day. - No tweezers. Whenever I get splinters I feel a slight pang for my Swiss Army Knife. Overall it's an excellent little tool, arguably about the most useful and versatile thing you could carry. If you want something like this, buy this.
