Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best kayak for under $750 !! I have put mine through extreme fishing for 3 years. Mountain rivers, and lakes. Dragging it through rocks, trees, creeks, rivers, and back. It is very hard to tip this kayak. I am 6'4 and 260lb and this is the perfect kayak for a big guy. have caughtt tons of big fish and have done 15+ mile trips and it keeps going strong each trip. If you want the most stable kayak with lots of room and storage that will take a real live work horse extreme fishing - out doors - beating this is it. $550 is cheap for a good kayak and I trust it with my life & gear every time I go out. Buy it !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first kayak I was looking to get into kayaking, but I have two kids (4 and 6), and I wanted to be able to take them out. I thought I was going to have to get a tandem. I stopped in a Dicks and saw how long tandems were, and wanted nothing to do with one. Then I saw this one, the colors of it is what caught my eye at first, but then I noticed how large the cockpit was and I thought I could fit a kid in there. So I went home and read lots of reviews about it and noticed that many people would take their kids (or dog) in it. So I went ahead and bought two, for me and my wife, so we'd be able to go alone or take the kids with us. I'm 6'5" and 240lbs and am able to sit comfortably with a kid sitting between my feet. Kayak is very stable and have enjoyed many hours already.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old town angler trip 10 dlx I purchased this kayak about a month ago. I've taken it out on several trips and feel I can give it an honest review. The trip 10 angler is basically the vapor angler, but with a sealed rear compartment. The hatch had a nice gasket and a lock and keeps everything dry. The boat glides nice through the water and have no trouble keeping up with my girlfriend dagger zydeco 11. Cuts through the water nicely. I'm not going to comment on the tracking. I'll just say that if you paddle properly(keeping your core stationary) and use even strokes any boat will track decent. The cockpit is nice and open plenty of room for a 4 legged companion. You have 2 rod holders behind the seat, but I'm a photographer, not an angler. I dragged my boat up a paved boat launch to test the skid guard. That's the last time I did that. Over sand it does fine. The carrying handles are a bit uncomfortable, but toggle handles can easily installed. There is a foam block that is fastened in the front of the boat by a long screw. Removing it requires you to seal the screw hole with caulk. I wish they wouldn't have gone through the trouble of installing with useless foam block. The footpegs are a bar style which for me are more comfortable than the circular style. I've been in some good swells and boat wakes and this boat deflects waves nicely. This boat is very round and does have significant wobble compared to my first flat bottom super slow sundolphin Aruba 10. I didn't think I would like the paddle rest, but I actually prefer it to the bungee style on the side. A couple things that I had issues with were the seat although has a nice backrest and easily adjusted by a pull system for it lacks any adjustment for thigh support. The kayak is 24" wide mount to mount so the ACS comfort seat will not fit this boat with out brackets and modification. The seat has some give so I wedge a pillow under the front of the seat to give my thighs the support I need. Lastly the anchor trolley. It's functionality is limited at best. The reason i opted for this boat was to drip anchor along the shore to take wildlife photos. The trolley has a rivited and closed line guide which prevents you from pulling the trolley to the other end, which I wish they extended it to the top of the boat, not just halfway up. Anyone who knows how an anchor trolley works with the wind would be slightly displeased and need to modify it to work correctly and 100%. As for taking photos with the anchor trolley as is, is kind of frustrating. You do get a nice 5lbs. Anchor and a lot of line. Another issue was the cleat. I can no longer sit down into my boat due to the fact it is impossible not to smash my elbow on it. The boat is NOT made of thin material and is perfectly fine to run it up on a gravely shore. I'm not at all worried about damaging or puncturing the boat at all. I do highly recommend this boat and I'm sure it will serve me well for many years. With slight modification this boat is great. Some things could have been thought out better, but this is a great boat and compared to other anglers it is better fit than cheaper anglers and just as good as more expensive ones. Don't let the few minor issues deter you from grabbing this 'yak. It IS a good and solid buy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I've used this three times now and love it. I've used this three times now and love it. The large cockpit is easy to get in and out of and gives you room to move around. The only complaint i have is that the hull seems a tad thin. I have a large ripple that's 10" in diameter on the bottom of my kayak and it will not come out. I would purchase this again as it's still a great kayak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AS ADVERTISED--Stable, Tracks Well, Light, Great Beginner/Youth/Lady Fishing Kayak! What impressed me the most about this kayak was, when I was on my trip to Dauphin Island, I fished the sound side and was catching tons of speckled trout. I had one that got off the hook, and I tried to net him, and leaned over to far. not a problem. Even though water came IN THE BOAT FROM THE SIDE, I was able to stay afloat and not tip. Didn't expect that. The "Tracking', which, it being my first kayak, I don't fully understand what constitutes "good tracking" from a "season kayaker", but to me, I had no problem with it staying on track when I stopped paddling. It does track a little left or right, a tad bit, per se, but I didn't have a problem with it. The fully separated rear storage hatch is extremely handy to put gear in, and had no problems keeping that stuff dry! The inside of boat also has plenty of room to store your gear as well, which comes in handy for angling. The anchor that comes with it....cant tell you how valuable that comes when you're fishing in the tides! You might need to upgrade the weight of the anchor though if you're in strong tidal phases. The anchor trolley system that comes with it is very handy when you're trying to get that perfect casting angle toward the structure/cover you're fishing. I do wish it would have been built all the way to the bow, but that's fabrications I can make myself without breaking the bank. The paddle holder that comes with it is also extremely useful when fishing. The paddle will strap across the kayak, which is useful in using it to position and hang the anchor rope on and across the paddle shaft to get the correct casting angle. The paddle holder is also extremely useful for using your net to take the fish off the hook. You place the net with the fish, in-between the bow and paddle, so that the fish does not flop around on you and hook you on accident. Excellent practical tool! I thought at first, I was going to have problems with the paddle being horizontal on the bow, but it really didn't affect me or get in the way while I was fighting the fish. This kayak is very easy to get into, because of the wide hole it has to sit in. Enough said on that. It also has lots of room to sit comfortably in. With the kayak being only 10 foot, and weighing only 44 pounds, it is very easy to put on the top of my vehicle, and carry it to the pond /or sound. I honestly don't think I would care for a heavier kayak. You are not always with someone....THINK ABOUT THAT...Wrapping up the advantages, the skid on the back of kayak came in very handy for dragging. The kayak also takes big waves great, no problem. This kayak has a drain plug which is very useful, because you'll always get water/ fish guts/ sand/ ect. in the kayak. Finally the side pads for your knees are great to have. This kayak has been well thought out in summation. So, some disadvantages are as follows...It is very difficult to get all water/debris out even if you use drain plug. Not sure how to fix this, but that's just one of the advantages that a sit on top kayak has over a sit in. The seat in it is not the most comfortable. By now, if you've read any other reviews on this kayak, you'll find that easy, not going to hark on it too much. Not too huge of a problem though, just put a pad or towel in-between the top and bottom sections of the seat. I don't really have any more bad things to say, really....Hope this helps someone, I worked very hard on this review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Good buy! I bought two and they are awesome! Love that Dick's customized their own version of the Vapor 10 to give us the Trip10 Angler Deluxe. I enjoy all of the accessories and have enjoyed many hours of fishing and recreation. The Trip 10 is roomy, tracks straight, and is very comfortable. The only "Con", I would recommend getting an additional cushion for the seat. After 4 hrs, the bum can get a little numb from the form padding seat. It's a sturdy ride that can handle waves and weight. OVERALL A+++++ you can't go wrong for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice angler kayak This was the first kayak I ever bought. I like it maneuvering ability. The two fishing pole holders on side work nice if u want to just drag line. I dislike it's metal clips on side. I've been scraped by the metal when lifting kayak into car. Recommend using gloves to b safe. The dry storage in back is nice but it award to open if your on water. It also has drink holder on front. It's nice but should b slightly deeper. I enjoy the kayak overall.
