Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Anchor for the Price I purchased a Field and Stream Eagle Talon 120 (12', 68lbs) from DicksSports that included a 1.5 folding grapnel anchor. The small grapnel was okay for calm rivers but too light for any level of current or wind. I also have a 15' canoe that we use a 7lb shackle anchor. I purchased this 3lb Marine Anchor (it says 3.5lb on the side) for twelve bucks to replace both of those anchors. It's really as good quality-wise as any of the grapnels and for half the price. It's the best size for the kayak and works well with an anchor trolley, but super gusty winds and currents will still put it to the test in soft bottoms. It's equally a good anchor for the canoe, with the same qualification that super strong currents and winds are going to drag you along. Overall, for twelve bucks you can't go wrong. Next time I'm at DicksSports I'm going to buy a second in case I get it hung up on something. There's nothing wrong whatsoever with this anchor; it has a fair price. It deserves a 5. I recommend this anchor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice compact anchor Great fit on the kayak, nice and compact at 3lbs. 5 tangs work really well vs my last 4 tang one. Also, the locking ring can't fall off as both sides of the main are larger than the ring hole. The ring fell off my old anchor in 30 ft of water, doh!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weight Works great with my 12' angler kayak. I like that I can use it upside down for fear that the grapple may get stuck in a tree.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pin fell out Used this once. It was heavy enough for my kayak. The pin fell out that kept the d ring attached to the rope and the anchor is now somewhere at the bottom of the lake.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It does the job Used it on a windy day while kayak fishing. Kept me in the spot I wanted to be in and the small, lightweight design is great. Doesn't take a lot of space on the yak when your loaded down for a full day of fishing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke off for no reason Not an anchor to be trusted. The eyelet that holds the cord somehow broke -off on my first day of using it? The reason I know that is that I noticed my boat moving, I pulled the anchor rope with the snap still on it. I am pretty sure the fishes didn't open the snap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good anchor for its size This is a good anchor if you have little or no wind at all. I like its design though.
