Fitness Gear 300 lb Olympic Weight Set 4.4 5 314 314
They're weights, they're heavy The weights were heavy, approximately the weight advertised, and fit on the bar made by same brand. January 27, 2015
Exactly what I was looking for This 300lb set comes with a 45lb Olympic bar and bar clips to prevent weights from sliding. Plates are iron and molded with hand holds for easy pick up and placement on the bar. Using for all olympic lifts. January 22, 2015
Perfect Addition to the rest of my workout bench. I won't have to change weights after every set repeatedly now that I have this extra weight. Very happy to have it. January 17, 2015
mmmmhmmm Well it's a bar and plates. The bar was straight so pretty much all that matters. A review on something like this when It hasn't been used much is worthless. January 16, 2015
Great Product, Great Price I love these weights and I really love the price. I purchased this weight set along with the olympic bench and have been very pleased with this purchase. I shop around before I make a purchase, and Dick's had by far the best price and quality that I could find, January 16, 2015
Product is great Great item recommend the item for those starting out January 15, 2015
Review of 300 lbs. Olympic Weight-lifting set I believe this is a good value for the purchase price that I paid. Some of the weight plates fit very tightly on the bar which makes changing plates quite difficult. Perhaps that will improve through use? January 14, 2015
Worth the Money! Not much can go wrong with a weight set, and this is a great way to get started with the Olympic style weights. Pros: ~Love the handles - they make my life easier. Especially when it's 1░ outside and the garage isn't much warmer. ~I actually like that the sleeves on the bar are ribbed - I haven't had to use the spring clips to hold the weight on. That mean changing weights is quicker. ~The knurling on the bar is the standard design used in regulation bars. That may seem inconsequential, but I'm using the Starting Strength program as a rank novice and it helps to have the same reference points Rippetoe uses in the book. ~Price! These weights usually go for a buck per pound. This set comes with 245 lbs of weight, so if you're paying less than $245 then you're saving money. Throw in the bar and the spring clips and that is a HUGE savings. Sure it isn't the best bar in the world, but it's adequate for beginners all the way up through intermediate ... and it's basically included in the set for free so I say Yes Please Thank You Very Much. Cons: ~The 45lb plates are not the standard diameter (450 mm). Again, that may not sound like a big deal, but when you're doing deadlifts (you ARE doing deadlifts, aren't you?) you can't rely on these plates to put the bar at the right height off the floor. ~The plates have some sort of enamel coating on them, and it seems like a bunch of sharp metal chips got sealed in here and there. Grab a plate somewhere other than a handle and you risk a cut finger. One of these days I plan to take a hammer and a wood dowel and knock all the "burrs" off. ~The bar fits kind of sloppy in the plates. Not a huge deal (at all), but I like to use the weights without the spring clips, and when the bar is sitting on the floor, the weights tend to lean and not look good. ~One of the spring clips barely fits onto the bar, and is an incredible pain to use. I don't use them anyway, but where's the quality control, am I right? I'm sure Dick's will make it right when I call them about it, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. My overall thoughts on this weight set: Worth the Money ... where else you going to go? January 14, 2015
great buy was the lowest price around !!!! store was great had product in stock and loaded it into my truck ! January 14, 2015
Very nice set. Works as advertised. Bench was very easy to assemble. The set up is very sturdy. The leg curl position is a little uncomfortable, but that may just be my knees. My son and I can enjoy the equipment together. January 14, 2015
