Rated 5 out of 5 by Great So far so good. Sturdy and versatile for me my husband and my son August 16, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Really nice, great value This is not a $600 bumper set, but a great beginner value. In my case great starter set for home a gym. The barbell clips are nice and the ribs on the barbell where the weights go hold the weights well. The knurling center grip on the barbell is not centered...this annoys my wife, but really make no difference. August 16, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good quality Great set of weights. My only peeve is that the arms are almost threaded and cause you to grind off any paint on your weights as you put them on. Very annoying. August 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great deal for the weights alone. Got this set to do Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe with my older boys. The weights themselves are fantastic. We love the hand grips that make it way easier to lift the 45s for the boys. The bar is great for a beginner, but the program is working so well, we are already upgrading to a Rogue Ohio power bar. if I needed more weight, I would buy this set again and sell the bar. Rated 1 out of 5 by Barbell bends You get what you pay for I guess. Obviously the plates are fine but the barbell bent at the sleeve for me. would not recommend for powercleaning or deadlifting. August 11, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Everything was great with this product except one of the collars to hold the weights on is messed up it will not open wide enough to get on the Bar. August 9, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Weights are great. The weights are easy to load and unload. I have been using the weight set for about two weeks now and have found them to be in great working order. The only reason I didn't give the set 5 stars is because the safety collars are very hard to get on and off. August 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great deal great product Everything I need to complete my home gym. It's great quality. Very happy. August 9, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good value for beginner set If you're a beginner or don't plan on lifting heavy, this set is a great value. It's important to keep in mind that the max for the barbell 300 lbs. I've gotten as high as 355 with no apparent bending to the bar (I don't drop it), but others have reported failure at a lower weight so YMMV. Once you hit 300, you deserve to treat yourself to an upgraded barbell anyway. When I first bought the set, I absolutely hated the threading on the sleeves. I'm still not a huge fan, but I did find that it helped keep the weights in place when I wasn't using collars (lifting without a spotter before I had a rack with safeties). Speaking of collars, do yourself a favor and pick up a set of clamp or lock-jaw style. The spring clips that come with the set are a nuisance. As for the plates, I'm right now purchasing this set for the second time just for the plates. They're not fancy, there's a modest amount of paint chipping, and you might have some rough edges to begin with, but I find that they're reasonably close to the stated weight which isn't all that common.
