Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value for money! Purchased this set for my home gym after searching for better deal on my limited budget. The quality is better than I expected after taking months to make up my mind and reading some negative reviews. For sure there are better sets out there if you are willing to shell out the cash. For what I was prepared to spend, I must say I am very happy. April 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product This is a great set to get started weight lifting. I recommend picking it up at the nearest store and saving the $130 in shipping costs. 255 pounds plus the 45 barbell is a great deal at this price. Most places would charge about $400 for just the weights. The bar may not be the best, but you'd still come off ahead buying this just for the plates and then purchasing a more professional bar elsewhere. April 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by AAAAA++++++ Great weight set for home recommend with a squat rack April 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great buy Great set for the price.. was what I was looking for.. plates are nicely made and the fact that they have handles makes it easier to handle April 24, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great set My Grand son joined the Football team and plays other sports and this is perfect to start light and work his way up. it is good for me as well, being older and not in shape like I was when I was younger. I walk and do a stepper but it's not the same as weight training. with all three I should be back in shape within a few months. April 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST SET FOR THE $$ Ordered online and picked up at my local Dicks. Great experience! Weights are of a good quality and have an easy to hold/carry design. The bar is very sturdy and is of professional quality. The clips are your standard spring clips. Overall this is probably the best bang for your buck. If you price out the plates separately, without the bar, you will spend well over the cost of the set. Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend. April 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect! Just what I wanted. A decent olympic bar with a fair set of weights, at a good price! April 20, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by bar looks incomplete The weights in this set look great. But the bar is not smooth on the ends. The entire space where the weights rest is threaded. Also it looks like there are endcaps missing. April 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome deal First off this is an Olympic barbell set so 300lbs for under $300 = OUTSTANDING. Try finding a deal that good April 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by good price for what you get First, I have no clue about durability of the plates or bar as I've only been using them for a few weeks now. That said, this is a good entry level weight set/ barbell with a few issues: Pros: a.) It has everything you need to get started (plates, barbell, and collars). b.) Enough variation in plates so that you can do workouts with more weight and fewer reps or less weight and more reps and move up and down in small increments when needing a little more or starting to burn out. c.) best price I could find at a little over $200 for everything new. d.) barbell is a solid bar, as opposed to other comparable two-piece bars that screw together in the middle. Makes me feel better doing squats over time with all that force concentrated at that point. e.) plates have handle holes which makes it easier to get on and off the rack and bar. Cons: a.) Plates came with paint chipping off all over straight out of the box. b.) Collars fit the diameter of the bar exactly and since the barbell sleeves are ribbed (which I don't particularly care for) it makes it really difficult to get them on and off. c.) since sleeves are ribbed and paint is chipping the ribs are creating more chipping in the center of the plate. Everything considered, pros outweigh the cons and I'm happy with the buy, A good pair of replacement collars are pretty cheap too. Hope this helps. April 16, 2015
