I would buy this product again. Skunks. October 16, 2012
Not Only for BEARS! This is my second can of Bear Pepper Spray. I take the first can with me mountain biking on deep-wooded trails and have used it on snakes, a bob cat, a skunk, and a few vicious dogs, but no bears?yet. It worked every time! These reptiles and animals couldn't get away from me fast enough! As advertised, it will reach out about 30 feet and beyond in a cone shape. You don't have to be that accurate! I bought the second can for use around the house and when walking my dog in the neighborhood. Suggest you buy the holder for it also. It straps perfectly on my belt. August 14, 2012
Did not need but glad I had. I was backpacking and getting my car stuck in sand had thrown be behind so I was hiking in the dark, alone. As I was coming over a ridge the light from my headlamp glowed back at me in the form of 5 pairs of eyes which were pointed in my direction. Instantly I reached for my bear spray while at the same time yelling and clanking my water bottles together. As the eyes scattered I turned on my brights on my headlamp to find that I had scared the crud out of a bunch of deer. Still it felt good knowing that I had what I needed if it wasn't deer. From then on I regularly practiced disengaging the safety (partially) and kept it close at all times. July 23, 2012
Bought this instead of regular mace So, my mom is going out of the country to a not so wonderful place. Packs of wild dogs, thieves, hoodlums and criminals run rampant where she's going. Decided to pick this up for her so I feel sorry for the sucker who tries anything. Maybe I'll write another review and let you know how it went but for now it sure gives you a very nice sense of security! Worth it - even if you never get to use it! July 2, 2012
Bought it for a trip to Yellowstone Hope I do not have to respond on its usefulness, but if I do, I hope my reviews will be extremely positive. May 28, 2012
Hurt or blind? The point of this product is to, as a last resort, stop a bear from killing you. It is intended to be kept close at hand (not in your back) because most attacks are a result of surprise. I dont know the stats but it is mostly for brown griz bears. You can watch videos on how to use the product. @FK GIRL. If you are in a situation were you going to use it I'm sure you will be hoping that the bear will be blinded. January 4, 2012
Not sure how to use it Directions on how to use this product are not very clear. Don't want to try it without needing it, but I'm not sure I will know what to do to use it when I do need it. Thought I was purchasing pepper spray, but it also says mace. Is it pepper spray (no blinding of the animal) or mace (could blind the animal)? October 1, 2011
