You find less expensive hydration packs but none better made or designed. From the air channel padding against your back to the easy removal of the bladder. Every part is well thought out and constructed to last. Your body does not transfer to the bladder allowing it to stay cool for hours. The padding on the contoured shoulder straps is thick and extends well down the strap fit all size of users. The wide mouth on the bladder makes it easy to fill with ice and liquid. When your done its easy to clean. you can also get great accessories for caring for the bladder.

I have a love for well made and engineered things and when it came to buy a hydration pack it was going to be the Camelbak. I mountain bike, ride my horse for hours on trails and ride my dirt bike in places that most people wont consider riding and because I'm out in areas that could take days for me to get back if I were to have a problem I needed a hydration pack that was easy to carry, small enough to be comfortable but big enough to haul my survival gear and the Rim Runner really does a great job of being just the right pack. If I'm traveling light the bag straps down to compress the compartments, if I carry lots of stuff it expands to a pretty good size. The water bag is by far the best I've used out in the field. I also used a military version in the Air Force that was also outstanding. This is a great bag and well recommended.

by Daddyro Great, comfortable and reliable daypack
I am an active person and avid hiker. I used this daypack to hike Mt. Whitney in the Sierra Nevada Mtns(CA). The Camelback Rim Runner met my needs and was very reliable. I was looking for a daypack that would carry: 3L hydration, comfort, light clothing and minor neccessities. I was extremely happy with this purchase and highly recommend this pack. I didn't even feel like I had the pack on my back, even after 22 miles in 12 hours.

I picked this backpack because I needed something that would hold enough water for an all day hike, 3L seems to work well. It has the 4 point shoulder and waist straps to relieve weight from the back. I use the extra pockets to carry small items such as a compass, tissues, etc. The zippered compartments allow a section for food, a section for maps (etc) and a section for the camelbak pouch. Unlike the store-brand knock off I previously bought, the pouch is easy to fill, has a notch so that it doesn't sag down to the bottom, and disconnects from the tube for easy cleaning. If I could improve one thing, it would be for the makers to mention if it's water proof on the tag.

This is the first CamelBak I have ever purchased and I'm very happy I did! It holds everything you need for a day out on the trail! Including extra side pockets for more water! Now that summer is nearing an end I plan on using my CamelBak skiing. It's a great size, and I look forward to seeing how it does on the mountain!

I purchased this product for a hiking trip to Glacier national park after realizing they were having unusually warm weather. I didn't want to carry 3-4 bottles of water each hike. This pack was perfect. The 100oz was a good size, although a couple of days I could have used more. Pack is every nice too. Very lit weight. Holds a lot of stuff - we had to bring rain gear, fleece wear, first aid items plus our lunch each day. It held all that and more. Was also easier to carry in airport than my regular pack. I do wish ere was one more smaller pocket on the outside. Looking forward to hiking with it locally this fall.

I use this for extended hiking and geo chaching. It is big enough and very comfortabable. It is also very good for carrying all the other things that you may need out in the field.

I bought this for a trip to the Grand Canyon. It was light weight and comfortable. It was the perfect size for short day hikes and had the right amount of storage space. I used it as my carry-on for the plane and hiked part of the way down the Bright Angel Trail. For longer trips you would need more than 100oz of water, but for short trips it is perfect. I was worried about the fit when I tried it on in the store, but once I got weight in it, I loved it.

I bought this for weekend day hiking trips and absolutely love it! The straps are comfortable, the venting keeps my back cool and dry and the pockets and tool loops are perfect for a smaller pack that will still carry the essentials. So glad I purchased this one!
