Don't buy to analyze your swing. Measurements very inaccurate. More of a toy than a tool

Overall, My wife and I enjoy using the optishot out in the garage to practice our swings or learn how to correct our swings. The optishot allows the use of real foam, or no golf balls to gauge each swing. The only problem we notice is the distances the golf ball flies do not match what we do on the range however it makes it up by letting us know the angle of the club and what the path of the swing is. Can't wait for winter now!

I've had it 2 days and it's just okay because you can hit balls. The feedback is sporadic.Might as well just buy a net and a mat because you cannot tell where it is going. May be a lighting issue or needs tape is what I read and I am sure they will tell me. I play a lot of golf and I am a low teens HCP and I hit a tight draw off the box darn near every time. Well I have hit probably around 250 drives with this and have not hit a single draw. Not one. It reads the club face as wide open or slammed shot pretty much every time. The irons are a little better but again very sporadic and if I cannot 100% trust the accuracy of the device then I cannot use the device as it will screw up my real swing. I am going to fool around with it a couple more days and try some things and if it changes I will write another review but if not I will be returning it.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Goo9000 Good Value
I bought the Optishot over a year ago and have enjoyed it. It has improved my play. Playing during the long cold winter months is a plus. However, I am on my third swing pad. The plastic housing has cracked on the previous two. I have contact customer support and they have been great. They have replaced it both times and we are trouble shooting to see why this continues to happen. I have a very high swing speed with the driver and I can not use the driver when I play because it is erratic in registering a drive for me.
I do think the Optishot is a good value.

For the price it does what is says. It is in between a video game and high end simulator and offers a lot of information on your swing. You should also purchase a good mat with the Optishot cut out and have a good back drop to hit balls against.

Rated 2 out of 5áby Golf2liv Not so good
I was excited to get this product this winter. Setuptook some time but made it work by getting the latest drives. First few days it worked ok for the most part but then it became erratic and a lot of the shots were not being detected at all. Despite multiple attempts of remedying the issue I could not. Not worth spending that much time trouble shooting!

major issue was making sure your computer has enough video capacity to run the program.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Ray55 Fun and works exactly as advertised
I think every golfer who lives in the north (where we have long snowy winters) and who has a spot with high enough ceilings to at least swing your irons should run out and buy on of these things! It's fun playing the simulated courses and the shot feedback is awesome. In my opinion the shot feedback alone is worth the price of admission. If your ceilings only allow iron play you can still play every course and hole, you simply set yourself to '3 PAR" and on every hole you'll tee off as if the hole were a par 3. It WILL work with regular lights just fine if you have them on dimmers and I've loaded the software on my wife's laptop running Windows Vista and my new PC (bought just to run Optishot) with Windows 8. My only issues with the unit is it doesn't work on Apple computers (that's why i bought a PC for it) and you really NEED a platform to level yourself up to it. I stacked some carpet remnants for now but they keep moving. My next purchase will be a custom made Optishot matt which is the correct size and has a block cut out for the unit. All in all ... it may not be quite as good as a $20,000. simulator but for only $399 it's some of the smartest money you'll spend if your a snowed in golfer. Highly recommended.
