As advertised
For the price it does what is says. It is in between a video game and high end simulator and offers a lot of information on your swing. You should also purchase a good mat with the Optishot cut out and have a good back drop to hit balls against.

Not so good
I was excited to get this product this winter. Setuptook some time but made it work by getting the latest drives. First few days it worked ok for the most part but then it became erratic and a lot of the shots were not being detected at all. Despite multiple attempts of remedying the issue I could not. Not worth spending that much time trouble shooting!

Computer capacity
major issue was making sure your computer has enough video capacity to run the program.

Fun and works exactly as advertised
I think every golfer who lives in the north (where we have long snowy winters) and who has a spot with high enough ceilings to at least swing your irons should run out and buy on of these things! It's fun playing the simulated courses and the shot feedback is awesome. In my opinion the shot feedback alone is worth the price of admission. If your ceilings only allow iron play you can still play every course and hole, you simply set yourself to '3 PAR" and on every hole you'll tee off as if the hole were a par 3. It WILL work with regular lights just fine if you have them on dimmers and I've loaded the software on my wife's laptop running Windows Vista and my new PC (bought just to run Optishot) with Windows 8. My only issues with the unit is it doesn't work on Apple computers (that's why i bought a PC for it) and you really NEED a platform to level yourself up to it. I stacked some carpet remnants for now but they keep moving. My next purchase will be a custom made Optishot matt which is the correct size and has a block cut out for the unit. All in all ... it may not be quite as good as a $20,000. simulator but for only $399 it's some of the smartest money you'll spend if your a snowed in golfer. Highly recommended.

An excellent product that works as advertised
The product works as advertised on a PC that has the specs that are specified. It was easy to set up. After using it for about 30 minutes you easily become familiar with it's menu's and pull downs. So far it has shown to be very rugged as it takes some pretty good hits from the clubs. I was able to develop a grip and swing that allows me to hit my irons much straighter after about an hour of practice.

Good Buy
Bought optishot for fun. Some of my buddies and I get together and play. Its on the mark. Shot tracking is very good. I do agree with past reviews the club head speed doesnt always seem right. But then again it may be and we dont want to admit it. LOL Over all its a good product and can be a blast with buddies. Its great in winter when you cant actually get out and play.

Good to play to stay loose for winter months
Plastic ring that holds rubber tee broke off. Center infrared bulb broke on front row of lights this seems odd because you don't swing down into it with club.
Vibration from hitting plastic pad? I would not recommend this to someone if they wanted serious training aid I believe it is to inconsistent with club speed.
If I can get the pad fixed or replaced. I will keep just for fun of playing and keeping loose for next season.

Golfing in winter
Set up in my garage with projector and large screen, it's a lot like playing real golf, does take some time tweaking settings with club setup and speed adjustments but mathces your actual shot closely if you take the time to do so. The only thing I don't like is it can't tell when you top the ball or even miss. Overall happy with opti shot I get to play golf in winter at home and I think it will help my game.

Works as advertised.
I am happy with the product. My only worry is durability. The matting on top is velcro'd down to the base and some type of adhesive is used. After a few days of use the whole thing shifted forward and was interfering with the front optical sensors. I had to peel it off and reseat it. Its not very durable , both side next to the tee area have already torn. i know you can buy replacement mats , but I was hoping it would last a bit longer. Also the base is plastic, it would of been nice if it was covered in a heavy duty rubber product. I have not seen any problems with the base plastic, but I am worried everytime we use it. if you hit a iron fat , it could crack the plastic. Also I placed the whole unit on a rubber mat and a piece of old carpet. I cut a hole in both so this would sit level. It works much better this way, and helps prevent accidental damage. Over all I am happy with the product it is a great practice tool..especially the driving range. It works ! It knows if the face of your club is open or closed..swing speed..swing path. Really nice !
