Rated 4 out of 5 by Product works well Product works well. Has periodic moments when it misses swings entirely but, other than that, it works as advertised. February 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by lots of fun- good price I have had my optishot for about a month now and I've used it almost every day. The feedback given is very helpful in correcting issues in your swing. The courses are very fun to play as well. It took some time to fine tune my club set based on how far I typically hit my clubs in real life compared to the virtual response but simply changing the distance percent up or down makes it easy to do so. I built my own stand to raise my stance up level with the system which I would highly recommend since it looks and feels very awkward to hit the ball off the sensor with out anything around it. I also built a net so I can play in my living room and not damage anything. I haven't had any issues with hitting the infrared sensors with my clubs when I hit a fat shot but the mat does make a loud bang and can get moved which takes some time to trust that the system can handle it. The sensors are recessed below the plastic of the mat so you would have to come in at a very sharp angle to hit the sensors themselves. One issue I have had so far is I destroyed the original tee holder. The holder is rubber and sits slightly below the turf when it is pressed in so the balls tend to sink into the hole which makes hitting the ball clean very difficult. I was placing the ball slightly in front of the tee holder but it's still annoying as the ball can roll back into the hole in my backswing. I purchased a turf tee holding plug on ebay that will replace my broken tee holder. the turf will be able to hold a tee and also will be flush with the mat surface so you can hit my irons off of it and the ball won't roll around. Overall assessment: Pros: - great way to practice in the winter or if you don't want to pay to go to a course - gives instant feedback on swing path, face angle, club head speed, contact (heal vs. toe not fat vs. thin) within a month I went from shooting low 90's on the game, which is close to what I shoot in real life, to low 80's. - thousands of dollars less than most simulators Cons: - Tee holder not very durable (replacements are $7 or $9 for 2 turf plugs on ebay so if you have to replace it once every 10 rounds that's not so bad) - putting function is very inaccurate but you can set gimmies for a set distance or auto putt for a set distance (I set it to autoputt for 100 feet so if I hit the green it will auto putt) typically it will give you a 1 putt within 6 feet a 2 putt within 30 feet and a 3 putt outside of that. It randomly does it but it seems to come out to about that. - May wake the neighbors with the loud noise of hitting a fat shot. January 31, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Optioshot Junk This optishot is totally inaccurate, telling me i have a 150mph swing speed and I am hitting it 370yards and half the time not even reading my drives. This is nothing near a launch monitor and a total waste of money. i am very disappointed with this simulator it shouldnt even be call a simulator. The balls they give you with it brake after a few hits, garbage! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! January 27, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by It's a toy Don't buy to analyze your swing. Measurements very inaccurate. More of a toy than a tool October 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by This product gives what it promises Overall, My wife and I enjoy using the optishot out in the garage to practice our swings or learn how to correct our swings. The optishot allows the use of real foam, or no golf balls to gauge each swing. The only problem we notice is the distances the golf ball flies do not match what we do on the range however it makes it up by letting us know the angle of the club and what the path of the swing is. Can't wait for winter now! September 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by best thing ever I was a bad golfer. i took lessons, practiced a lot but still nothing then i bought the OptiShot. it helped me so much i still have one i use it every day and now i am 100 times better than i ever was. July 19, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Meh I've had it 2 days and it's just okay because you can hit balls. The feedback is sporadic.Might as well just buy a net and a mat because you cannot tell where it is going. May be a lighting issue or needs tape is what I read and I am sure they will tell me. I play a lot of golf and I am a low teens HCP and I hit a tight draw off the box darn near every time. Well I have hit probably around 250 drives with this and have not hit a single draw. Not one. It reads the club face as wide open or slammed shot pretty much every time. The irons are a little better but again very sporadic and if I cannot 100% trust the accuracy of the device then I cannot use the device as it will screw up my real swing. I am going to fool around with it a couple more days and try some things and if it changes I will write another review but if not I will be returning it. July 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Value I bought the Optishot over a year ago and have enjoyed it. It has improved my play. Playing during the long cold winter months is a plus. However, I am on my third swing pad. The plastic housing has cracked on the previous two. I have contact customer support and they have been great. They have replaced it both times and we are trouble shooting to see why this continues to happen. I have a very high swing speed with the driver and I can not use the driver when I play because it is erratic in registering a drive for me. I do think the Optishot is a good value. May 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by OptiShot Infrared Golf Simulator I had an earlier version of this produst and i wa kay. This product work just a it said it would. Thank you March 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by As advertised For the price it does what is says. It is in between a video game and high end simulator and offers a lot of information on your swing. You should also purchase a good mat with the Optishot cut out and have a good back drop to hit balls against. January 27, 2013
