Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor Quality Unlike other reviewers, I have actually used this product. I take it on bike rides with me for protection, mainly against dogs. The first time I used this product was on a large pitbull. The dog was probably five feet behind me when I sprayed it. The range was horrible. The spray itself came out in a small stream, rather than a blast. The dog stopped and looked stunned. However, I don't think it affected him too much. A couple months later another dog was chasing me and I went to spray it. There was no more pepper spray left in the bottle, so I ended up having to kick at it to get the dog to go away. This product also has a very low percent of pepper. The higher the percent of pepper, the more it burns. I would strongly recommend buying a good quality pepper spray online that has these features: A range of greater than 10 feet, a high percentage of pepper, and enough spray to use multiple times (or on multiple threats). Bottom line: this product was cheap and more importantly, DO NOT TRUST IT TO KEEP YOU SAFE!! May 28, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Did not help me The trigger is very hard to press. I had a situation with a dog attacking my dog. Sprayed 1 straight shot that didn't phase the dog. Second shot didn't shoot it just splattered then didn't spray at all. Very disappointed in this item. Can this item be returned?? February 26, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Do NOT buy this model of Mace pepper spray This model (hard case model) of Mace pepper spray does not work. It will give you false security!! It is most difficult to press down on the trigger and get a stream of spray to come out. It will be too late by the time you could get it to work. You need to buy the Mace ((jogger model) pepper spray. There is a difference in how they work. The Jogger model is a flip and grip model, not the twist and lock model. October 16, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Did not work I bought two of the $9.99 Mace Key Chain case and pepper spray...They did not work...I returned for the $14.99 and those work.. February 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very useful This mace is perfect for carrying while running or walking outside. It has a glow in the dark trigger and fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. September 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Compact and easy to grab Bought this for our daughter since she sometimes works at night. The size is small enough so it doesn't draw attention, but big enough to pack a punch with the spray. I highly recommend it. February 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mace Easy to access on keychain and can save a life! Sprays purple so it's easy to see where the liquid sprays July 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Some added protection We live a nanny state that doesn't allow any major protection, so until that changes... This will help protect you unti the cops show up to find the crime scene already happened. It's for personal protection and should work just fine. April 30, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by not all pepper spray is equal. 3 or 4 short bursts and it was empty. the bull dog i sprayed barely reacted to this pepper spray, i feel lucky i didn't have to resort to pulling my gun on this dog - no thanks to this "pepper" spray.. it seems very ineffective compared to other sprays i have used.
