Hurricane Calico Jack Inshore Spinning Rods 4.8 5 15 15
Good rod for the money This is a pretty good rod. It is a little stiff for my liking however it casts smoothly. The eyelet that is designed to hold the hook doesn't work very well as it is not fixed April 30, 2013
One heck-of-a rod The Calico Jack is one heck of a rod. I've caugth Reds, Snooks, Gator Trout, and a bunch of other things on this rod. I would recommend this rod for a beginner or an experienced angler. It's affordable and the best value for your money. I had mine for 7 years and never had to change the guides. It's another great product from Hurricane. March 25, 2013
Hurricane calico Jack 7' 6" mh rod Excellent rod priced very reasonable. Very light, I use this rod for jig and craw trailers. In my opinion could be used for worm and spinner bait. Good solid all around multi task sensitive Im7 graphite rod for the guys that dont want to spend the money on the more expensive speciality rods of todays market. I also have a 7' medium action calico jack like it also. Everyone wants good quality functional equip and these rod are all that and are priced so the blue collar week end bass fisherman like my self can afford. Just my opinion and Im definately no expert. Great value This is the 3rd hurricane rod I've purchased. I think it's a great rod for fresh or salt water for the money. I would recommend it to my friends. November 30, 2012
Great Rod Bought two 7.6 med. and paired them with Shimano Sperhos 4000 series. Rod is very sensitive, extremely light, and has good backbone. The fast tip allows you to cast it a mile. I am impressed with these rods, espically at an affordable price. Good for all inshore species. November 23, 2012
great product Very durable would recommend to everyone who wants a great product for a good price. I'm using it with a shimano sedona 4000 series I'm gonna buy another one so I can put a 2500 series on it. November 16, 2012
Great value for the money This rod matches the performance of my Shimano Terra and Redbone Hurricane at half the cost. Two thumbs up! November 14, 2012
Excellent rod. I just recently bought my second Hurricane, now I have a Medium and Light-Medium both are excellent rods with good feel and backbone. Matched with a good reel and braided line you can land just about any inshore fish out there. October 17, 2012
Great rod for the money Definitely a nicer rod than others in the price range. Have caught snook, trout and redfish and it has performed well. Easy to control casts and good enough backbone to take care of business. The only thing I was a little bothered by at first was how small the guides were. It has more and smaller guides than many of this length so my leader knot made a lot of noise going through. I changed my knot to a smaller type of knot and it is much better. I have to assume the smaller guides help with control. I have fished in pretty windy conditions with no wind knots at all. Cant really beat the rod for the money. Great looking rod too. GREAT Rod! Absolutely love this rod. The 1 piece graphite blank provides fantastic feel. Nice fast tip. First time out with it I caught a 21" Red and a 27" Red. This rod had no problems turning the head of that big 27" and getting him coming back to the boat. June 27, 2012
