Rated 5 out of 5 by Tampa Guy Is there anything it CAN'T do??
I've had one of these for a year now down here in Tampa, and I LOVE IT! Red Fish, Black Drum, Hog fish, Grouper, Spanish Mack... This rod is unstoppable! You can't do better for the price. I paired it with Pfleuger Presidential reel. They fit into each other a little funny but it's cool with me. It's light and extremely sensitive, but very tough. Get this rod!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tom 777 Outstanding Value
I bought the 7', ML, 6 - 12, 1/4 to 1/2 oz. lures. I use this for Bass and Pickerel fitted with a Shimano CI4, 2500, 8lb. power pro braid. Not sure if this is the newer version as it now comes with an IM7 blank. I have several other rods, including a Loomis NRX, and others from St. Croix that I treasure. For $60., this Calico Jack performs in my opinion like rods costing 2 to 3 times as much. It is well balanced, fast tip, and almost weightless. This rod also has 8 guides plus the tip. For this price, I highly recommend adding one or two of these to your arsenal. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by michael good rod for the $
8' model use them for inshore wadefishing for extra casting distance.I have many st.croix rods that are awesome, always pickup these (cheapies) over them, being a mh rod they have a awesome tip for plastics and the soft seatrout mouths.as far as durability have not fished them long enough to tell.as with any saltwater tackle I'm sure routine maintenance will prolong life of product.enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by AL Hurricane Calico Rod
Used only once and it performed as expected, Hurricane makes very good rods. Bought on line at what I thought was a reasonable price, when it arrived there was a sticker price of $5.00 less on the rod, plus I paid shipping. Could have gone to the store and saved $12-$13.

Rated 5 out of 5 by critter getter this product is awsome
this calico rod is super light and has excellent casting...I use powerpro at 20 lbs and it just glides...I have a redbone but I honestly like the calico more it has more cork grip and the hook holder on the bottom moves which is great cause the one on my redbone broke because it got bumped by the railing of my boat and bent sideways this rod is just overall great and the price is awesome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by flashalexb Good rod for the money
This is a pretty good rod. It is a little stiff for my liking however it casts smoothly.
The eyelet that is designed to hold the hook doesn't work very well as it is not fixed

Rated 5 out of 5 by Red-Drum One heck-of-a rod
The Calico Jack is one heck of a rod. I've caugth Reds, Snooks, Gator Trout, and a bunch of other things on this rod. I would recommend this rod for a beginner or an experienced angler. It's affordable and the best value for your money. I had mine for 7 years and never had to change the guides. It's another great product from Hurricane.

Rated 5 out of 5 by redneck bassfishin Hurricane calico Jack 7' 6" mh rod
Excellent rod priced very reasonable. Very light, I use this rod for jig and craw trailers. In my opinion could be used for worm and spinner bait. Good solid all around multi task sensitive Im7 graphite rod for the guys that dont want to spend the money on the more expensive speciality rods of todays market. I also have a 7' medium action calico jack like it also. Everyone wants good quality functional equip and these rod are all that and are priced so the blue collar week end bass fisherman like my self can afford. Just my opinion and Im definately no expert.
