Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 81 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Replacement for worn out Merrell MOHAB Boot Based upon a park ranger's recommendation, he lives in boots and is in the field most of the time, I tried on the Keen Targhee II Mid Boots at a local Dicks store. They were very comfortable in the store and I ordered online saving $20.00 Boots arrived about a week later. I have used them for a week steady now in the park. Still very comfortable and the lacing system really works well. Like how the rubber toe cap helps keep water off your toes. The ankle support is good for light hiking and just walking around. I thought the Merrell was a decent boot, and it was. The Keen is just better. Cost a few dollars more than the Merrell, but is definitely a step up. April 1, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by hiking boots i bought a pair of these boots and with in the first month they were great..but by month 3 they was coming apart ..the tread was coming apart from the boots ..i will never buy a pair of keens again.i will stick with the merrells..they lasted through three years of hard core camping..lol thanks December 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very comfortable boot This boot has a good arch support and the cinch strap system allows the boot to be worn very snug or very loose. November 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Keen Targhee II Great quality and durable. This is my 4th pair. I normally wear wide. These fit well. I have purchased both in store and online. Both ways good service. SEM, Butler,PA September 11, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by quality control, materials or design issues? I've had 3 pairs of Targhees.... two purchased and one replacement from Keen over a 3 year period. Same and continuing problem with all of them. My biggest headache with Keen has been continual tread separation. Glue starts to fail within about 100-200 miles on rocky Colorado trails. Waterproofing is fair at best. Stitching has failed in several spots. Keen has replaced them with no problems but the replacement pair which was the same size as the original are too small/tight [the agent told me that they had had a 'bad batch' from China if you buy that]. Sizing is problematic and the shoe MUST be tried on at the store instead of ordering 'your size' as they do run small. That said.... it is one of the most comfortable and lightweight boots I've ever owned bar none... and if you are looking for a stylish boot to wear while crawling through shopping malls I give them 5 stars. For rough use I've since switched to HiTec Altitude IV [sadly, it isn't carried by Dicks and they should consider adding them or replacing the Timberland brand]. I've used Merrill and several other brands, but IMO for the value, the HiTec mid ankle is a less expensive shoe although heavier than the Keen, but has equally excellent support and comfort and with superior durability, wear, and waterproofing. Rated 1 out of 5 by No good I bought these shoes for work because I wash aircraft parts and I needed some shoes to keep my feet dry. I don't get my feet completely drenched at work but some water does splash on them. after washing my first part I noticed the tops of my feet felt wet. I removed my shoe and felt inside, and sure enough, water had leaked through the membrane that was supposed to be " waterproof guaranteed". I continued to wear them a second day even though I was greatly disappointed and after I got home I noticed the laces had come untied. then I discovered why..the plastic clasp on the outside of the upper had completely broken off! I'm sure it caught on something and broke at work. but I took them back and at least Dick's let me Exchange them for some Merrell's. They are waterproof and have a metal riveted clasp. if you are using these shoes for anything rugged or involving water( for which Keen is intended to be) I would suggest Merrell, or anything besides Keen, I was greatly disappointed. Rated 5 out of 5 by very comfortable great fit and designed to tighten at the ankle but very easy to slip on. October 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hiking boot First they are very comfortable I could wear them every day. I've worn them several times now and after putting them back on after a break I was again reminded how comfortable they are. They also have good grip and traction. October 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesomeness on your feet There was a pretty good consensus on Keen Targhee II mids on one of my forums so I took the plunge shortly after posting and got a pair...absolutely awesome boots...after a little and I mean little breaking in I did an AT walk/climb with them...surefooted...and now a Close Range Gun Fighting class...I was worried about my ankles, both are bad, one much worse and I was only 5 weeks out of a multiple fracture on the left foot, 2 days out of a soft cast for the class and they worked perfectly and gave my ankles the support they need and the protection my foot needed while still healing...I can highly recommend these boots to anyone out there looking for a pair of high end footwear...In hindsight had I been wearing these boots I don't think I would have broken my foot at in the first place... Rated 3 out of 5 by Oddly sized My local store didn't have my size so I ordered these online...other reviews said they run about a half size small. I ordered a half size more than I normally wear to compensate. After wearing them for three days, I felt like they were still too small. When I went to the local store, they had a full size bigger than my normal. I tried them on and it felt a little better, but not much. I don't typically wear a wide, but I believe the issue may be the boot are a tad narrow. I tried on a pair I Keen hiking shoes at a full size bigger and THEY still felt too tight. I returned my boots and realized Keen was just not meant for me March 13, 2013
