Collars Have Changed i picked up a set of these in the store and it looks like the collars have changed. The ones which came with mine a plastic and have a binder that locks onto the dumbbell sleeve effectively. The new collars are black for reference instead of the metal looking collars pictured in the product image. One other thing to note is that the sleeves also have grooves which is what the collars lock into. I have loaded these up with 45 lbs of plates (22.5 on each side) and the weight plates don't budge. It may be worth checking with Dicks which ones these handles actually are now. November 1, 2014
Horrible Equipment! As luck would have it, I was shopping for replacement collars for my FG dumbbell handles, and I read another review related to this product. I agree completely with the other reviewer's comments. These barbell handles are garbage. The collars are worthless. They do not engage effectively with the mating threaded sleeves of the handles. On several occasions, the collars have slipped, and the plates have dropped to the floor. Obviously, this is a dangerous situation, and I'm surprised these dumbbell handles continue to be sold (given their inherent exposure to product liability). Do yourself a favor - if you're looking for Olympic dumbbell handles, don't walk away from these. Instead, run! They are very expensive, yet unusable. Horrible equipment! July 13, 2014
Worst Dumbbells Ever Don't buy. The collars don't work. The weights just slide right off. I tried 5 different brands of spring collars and none of them worked. If your going to take the time to create a dumbbell handle to sell, don't you think you would make sure the stupid thing could hold weight on it. Isn't that the most important aspect of the dumbbell handle. Fitness Gear should be called Junk gear. "I would use stronger words but it won't allow me!" November 15, 2011
