Rated 4 out of 5áby Excellent except for one hiccup... I bought these shoes several months ago before a trip to the southwest. Since then I have put just over 90 miles on them, most of which were in my home area of the southeast. I have really enjoyed the shoes in all conditions- wet, dry, cold and hot. They broke in really quickly and have kept my feet comfortable even on long hikes over rough terrain. The only reason I took one star off was that yesterday after getting home from a hike I noticed that the sole was separating from the midsole in two places on the left shoe. I wrote a message to Merrell's customer service but heard nothing back. Today, after I got off of work, I decided to take the shoes back to Dick's to see if there was anything they could do. The employees at my local store were very helpful and allowed me to exchange the shoes for a new pair. They saved me the hassle of having to deal with Merrell directly, which wasn't looking like a fun endeavor. Thank you, Dick's for the five star service! November 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby Very satisfied with the strength of the shoe The person assisting me was very knowledgeable. I came to the store with some performance criteria for a shoe that will give my feet better support. He asked good questions to help narrow the selection. He gave me two shoes to try and the Merrill hit the mark. I am really enjoying the shoes. March 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby I love Merrells! I have only had this pair a few days so far, but they are great - I really like the styling and the grey/black/beluga color. My last pair of Merrells I purchased in 2005 and I am still wearing them today! Those were the best shoes/sneakers I ever had which is why I bought these. December 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby Excellent Hiking Shoe This is my second pair of these purchased from Dick's. The first one I bought about a year ago for my job leading tours in the deserts of California. They were sturdy and light and had great ventilation during hikes in high temperatures. I soon realized, however, that they were so comfortable and provided such good foot support that I was wearing them virtually all the time so decided to buy a second pair for use off-the-job. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! November 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby outstanding comfort arrived within 4 days, quality as expected-having owned these before, care must be taken when tying laces as they tend to work loose-easy to overcome December 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby Terrific shoe I don't generally enjoy paying $120 for shoes because I am very hard on them due to my job, but these are the best Merrel's I've ever owned. Very comfortable, lots of support, easy to keep clean and I've even cheated and used them in the gym a couple times. If you're on the go and need a durable shoe you can't go wrong. March 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great Shoes I used it one a 1 day hike on the Inca Trail in Machu Pichu. It rained steadily during my hike but the shoes kept my feet bone dry! January 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby Best Hiking Boots Ever! These hiking boots were incredibly comfortable! I went on full day hikes without breaking them in and had no problems at all. I was worried that they didn't look like they would be waterproof but I went hiking in the snow and ice and my feet didn't get wet once! A friend of mine tested these boots out by wearing them in the shower and said his feet didn't get wet either! October 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5áby Awesome shoes Awesome shoes! I wore these on an Adirondacks trip on the way to Panther, Santanoni, and Couch Mountain in MID SPRING(massive mud, muck, and thick runoff) without using gaiters (oops) and with a 60 pound pack. They performed excellent, kept my feet nice and dry. When they would get totally caked in mud, I just kick into the streams to rinse them off and they still stayed dry inside. Even when covered in mud they had pretty good grip on the slippery rocks and logs on the trails. Only complaint: laces staying tied. Despite tying the shoe laces normally, they came untied couple times during the 5 mile hike to basecamp. For me, the shoes laces are just a touch to short to be able to double knot them. Get some new shoes laces, or just knot the laces and shove the strings into the crossed laces. June 13, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5áby not-so-waterproof Great traction. Pretty comfortable. BUT the main reason I got them was they were "water proof". Wore them through 2 rainy days a few days apart and they held up to the hype. The 3rd wet day that I wore them it had rained the night before & was not raining while I was out. By the end of the day my socks from my toes to my arch were wet. Hadn't splashed through any puddles, just trek through wet grass, mulch, dirt. Disappointed. The search continues. April 29, 2014
