Rated 4 out of 5 by Bigdady Pretty Cool & compact A must for any hunters it backpackers just need to add a cable saw but cheap to do and fits in pack perfect with room for some extra cotton balls for tender. June 26, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Chris Good Starter Kit This is a good basic starter kit you can build on. Is it the best? No. But for someone who doesnt know where to start, Use this kit to build on. IF you are a hard core survivalist you will think its junk but for a starter get it. I have a couple and i have added to it. Plus no one else has anything out there for the price. June 18, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jet Good piece of kit I bought this at a Dick's as soon as I rounded a corner and saw it. It's small but that's the idea. Like one of the tag lines says: Throw it in your pack and hope you don't ever have to use it. This kit will certainly get you out of a jam and buy you some time. You'd be wise to carry a bigger knife but you'd probably have that on you anyway (I would). A little extra tinder would also be good to add and should have been there already (costing it one star). There is a bit of room in there for a few more odds and ends (maybe a bit of duct or electrical tape (or first aid tape), a few small zip ties and maybe a bit more snare wire but that's being picky. It's fine like it is (except for the sparse tinder)Overall, I like it. For [$] you can't go wrong. October 29, 2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bow hunter/ survivalist Awesome for beginners This kit has everything! The faro rod and the knife alone are worth the money. Great kit overall. I hope that gerbergear includes a saw in later versions, though September 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by PMR 30 A GREAT PRODUCT THIS KIT IS GREAT FOR WHAT IT IS INTENDED FOR. EVERYONE SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THE WORST. FOR THE LOW PRICE IT IS GREAT FOR ANYONE TO KEEP WITH THEM IN THEIR CAR IR BACKPACK. October 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Andrew pretty awesome this survival kit is awesome. everything is very trusty. i used the ferro rod (fire starter) a bunch of times and it hasn't failed. the rod barely has any serious indent in it so i know its going to last me a long time. obviously the orange pouch isnt waterproof thats why theres a plastic bag in it that holds everything. there are matches in it that look like fir crackers and theres a match striker. the knife is very small but its good for the smaller things. the only thing i did was add 2 or 3 more cottonballs because they make awesome tinder. awesome overall.
