poor imitation of the leatherman
I recently bought the bear gerber survival with the fire starter and flashlight
what a bad decision first the flashlight does not have a switch you have to unscrew it to turn it off .the multi-tool is poor design and compared to the leatherman poor quality the tools are hard to retrieve and the case is hard nylon making it hard to take out I saw this Item at dicks on clearance and I know why I should have spent the extra 10 dollars and got the leatherman I miss my old one which is lost I do not know who Bear Grylls is but I can say He does not know how to design a multi-tool

Not a Bad Multi-Tool
I bought this tool about two weeks ago. Before i bought it i noticed that Gerber makes another multi-tool that is exactly the same as this one. Only alot cheaper. (It's up to you to reseach the other tool). The only difference is the Bear Grylls logo and included survival guide. One other thing is that the Bear Grylls version has grips on the handles, compared to the origional Gerber version that has a big hole through the handles. Now about the tool itself. All the needed tools are included in the device. However, it does not have as many as some other types of multi-tools. But, think how big do you want the tool to be? This one is perfect size and fits well in the hand. The tools stay in place very good with the tool lock activated. The knife, saw, etc. in the tool feel sharp, but when i went to use them they wern't that good. With a proper sharpening they would be alot sharper and cut better. Everything on the tool itself is pretty good and everything is sturdy and well built. I only have one complaint. When i bought the Bear Grylls folding knife the sheath was very well constructed and still holds true (it was military grade as it says in the description). However the sheath for this tool is flimsy and does not retain it's shape like the other does (it seems to lack some kind of internal support). When i am sitting down and try to slide the tool back into the sheath it catches on the back pocket of the sheath (where your included survival guide is stored). It isn't that big of a deal, but i would think for the price everything should be very well constructed. Don't get me wrong though, the sheath is good, compared to other products. But it didn't meet my expectations, compared to other Bear Grylls' products. This is why i give the product four stars, otherwise it would be five. Once again, very good product.
