These weights are awesome. They aren't as great as the weights with the rubber on the ends but for a cheaper price and the same basic idea, these are good. They're very sturdy and I use them everyday!

Joe's review got me so re-excited about these dumbells that i actually went out and bought two more and fastened them to my shoes, realizing that the faster i run the heavier they become!!! Now i am like a machine, watch those sparks fly!!!

Rated 5 out of 5áby Joe Best Dumbbells Ever!
So I bought these at my local store and immediately weighed them when I got home. I have a killer atomic scale that is supah accurate. The each weighed 45.0001 lbs. Uhm... DEAL! I got an extra ten thousandth of a pound with each dumb bell! SCORE!
...so then I did some simple math: I lift these during curls, hammer curls, and chest presses. I do about 5 sets of 10 each day (except Sunday... I'm not a Communist). That means .0001 lbs x 3 exercises x 5 sets x 10 reps x 6 days a week x 52 weeks a year = 4.68 lbs extra per year!!!!!!
Simple chemistry tells you that 1 calorie is burned when you raise 1ml of water 1░ Celcius. So, lifting this extra weight will burn almost 20 extra calories. Unfortunately the FDA allows nutrition info on food items to be listed in Kcal or 1,000 calorie increments. So that 200 "calorie" doughnut is actually 200,000 calories... sorry fatties!
Back to the dumb bells though... they are hexagonal, my favorite polygon! They have hand grips, makes it easy to lift them... the bowling balls I was using before were totally terrible to grip as the holes had been filled in for extra weight. So these dumbbells are a HUGE improvement!
Sadly I can only give them 5 stars... I would give them 45.0001 stars if I could!

They're 45lbs each and they're pretty good quality. Not much else to expect from them.

Rated 5 out of 5áby X-Firefighter The Price and the Product Fit my Needs
I've had two shoulder replacements and I needed to add a set of dumbbells to my rack as after 40#, my weights go up in 10-lb. increments and I needed a 45-lb set to move up in 5-lb. increments. The prices in several of the retailers in town were insane. I found the product I needed - it matches all of my other dumbbells - on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods. The dumbbells are strong, comfortable on the hands, and should last me forever. I guess I'll be back for a pair of 55-pounders.
Keep on Training!
