My son is 10 and this is his second Hit-A-Way. He has been using this product since he was seven and he cannot stay away from it. If he has a few minutes before school, before we run errands or even before a game he is hitting the ball. He has always been a good player but I feel this product has brought his hand/eye coordination to a new level. Will definitely purchase another one once this one wears out.

While the concept is good, there is a flaw that I see in the links that connect the straps to the ball. After 2 days of use one of the links broke. When I inspected the link I noticed that it is not uniform in the diameter of the link. It is thinner at one spot on the link where it broke, which looks like its manufactured that way because the other (undamaged link) had the same thinner diameter in it. I appreciate the store replacing it, but based on what I've just explained, I don't have much faith that it won't happen again

It is a great concept! I used it and it worked great until the cables snapped and the ball came flying off of the chords! Luckily, it didn't hit anything, but if it does that again, sooner or later it would damage someone's property and would cause great problems. I would recommend a different hitting aid than this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Baseball Dad Excellent tool!
I bought this for indoor practice during rainy days and winter. Attached to one of our lolly columns in the basement, worked great! I have one son in baseball and another is a t-baller - both love it! It provides immediate feedback; whether hit square, fouled or tipped. Now, we can still condition and get reps during winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by D-Man's Dad Simply INCREDIBLE
The SKLZ Hit-A-Way baseball trainer is incredible. Not only is it simple to set up it and get started (he does it all by himself, he's 10), but it condenses about 4 hours of typical on field batting practice into about a half hour of repetitive, high energy pounding of a baseball, with immediate feedback and results. Fellow parents, no more time wasted finding a open field, pitching balls over the plate and rounding up baseballs. Just set him or her up in the proper hitting stance and let the Hit-A-Way groove the swing technique, hand eye coordination, hitting power, and driving of the ball. This is the best hitter training tool I have ever seen. It's simply incredible.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ProHitter Good for certain reasons
I've used the hit away system since I was 6. Now i'm 20 years old and play professional baseball. It's a good system to use to get reps in when it's raining outside. You won't have to pick balls up after you hit either since it's connected to a rope. You have to adjust it to get the ball where you want it and it's a little tricky to do that. It's good for getting your mechanics down and training your eyes to see where the ball is coming from. I only have it set to down the middle so I can get warmed up and my mechanics down to go hit in the cage or off the tee on the HIT A WAY PRO or live pitching. For the price it's Ok. I does tend to wear down if you use it a lot but still decent and good for reps even when it's late or stuck at home.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sk3new Good for replacement
When I bought this I did not know it was just the ball on the strap. Had trouble find a pole or post to put it on. Good for helping keeping eye on the ball and getting some batting swings skills. It's great if you have their pole, but that's real pricy.
