Rated 4 out of 5 by really like it This is a nice little rod. I got it because it is telescopic. I can keep it in my truck without worring about slamming the door on it or something getting thrown on it in the back. It casts and reels very good. The only downfall i have found is, as with any prespooled reel i've had, it backlashed until i got 30 or 40 feet of line off of it. after that no problems. By no means is it my pole for serious fishing, but i love it for the convenience of it being there at all times. May 13, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good for the price! I bought this item despite some of the bad reviews. So far I have caught 1 large bluegill, 1 white perch, 3 crappie, and a large mouth bass with no issues. The one thing I don't really like is the reel, but I plan to replace it in the future. I bought the rod so I can take it to work and fish on my lunch break, and it has been wonderful for that! Rated 4 out of 5 by You get what you pay for I found the rod to worth what I paid. The reel is a piece of junk ,but I don't like open reels on these kind of rods anyway. I tossed the reel in the drawer, put a closed face mini reel on it and have been fishing several times with it. Remember wipe it off before closing the rod down I wiped mine with silicon spray and it works like a dream. These rods are meant for those fish in the Tanks ( Ponds ) of Texas. The reels are good for ........ nothing. March 20, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Get different line Bought this to get into fishing with my husband. The preloaded line tangles like an old phone cord on itself at all times. He's an experienced fisherman and it was no different for him. Spent the whole time untangling. Didn't bring backup line so our trip was cut short. His rod only cost $20 more with preloaded line and was wonderful. Nice carrying case (able to carry all my gear, chair, and food and beverage easily) and the little bit of tackle was fun to play with although we mostly used minnows with a weighted floater. If money an issue worry less about carrying case and can save $10 by getting an UgliStick combo. April 10, 2011

Rated 1 out of 5 by i would never buy this product again Got this set as a gift and used it regularly. Within the fourth time of usage the reod got stuck telescoped open and broke, went in and got it replaced. after two days of use i had the same problem and the clicker in the reel stopped working. Would just go return it, but dont wanna make the gifter feel bad. I would not recomned this as a gift April 17, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by zebco spinning telescopic set I don't reccoment this rod, the locking mechanism is terrible. every clip but one jammed on my first cast and the rod had a micro crack which broke when recolapsing, luckily Dick's has solid return policy and cheap insurance which made an exchange very easy and painless. Rated 3 out of 5 by Tangled Mess It would seem I spent more time removing tangled line than I did fishing. Replaced line with a Bass and Fish 5 lb. line. Tried various methods of casting. Not sure if it is the reel or simply the rod not being long. This would be a great poll for sink and wait fishing. I would not buy this again, but do see this poll has some purpose. So until I have kids, this poll is going to have a nice little spot in the garage. July 10, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great starter travel rod Great starter set. They were good quality for easy fishing. I would give it 5 stars but the carrying case was not the most convenient for travel. The reel continues to either stick out of the bag or slip out if not attached to the rod. When attached it's too bulky to close. The velcro straps are awkwardly placed. The tackle box continues to slip out of the pocket. Additionally, the soft sided bag provide no protection for the gear inside. We purchased 3 of these for a canoe trip. Numerous opportunities were there for them to get smashed up. It was inconvenient to keep worrying about them while hauling other gear. A travel rod and reel should be ready for travel. Other than the travel case, it was a good purchase. July 21, 2015
