Rated 4 out of 5áby Great Value This was my first kayak.....Great value.....comes with a lot of ascessories. Would give it five stars but the seat is horrible. May 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Amazing boat Leonani was very helpful and went out of her way to help me get my new boat. I love it it's a very nice boat for the price, I would recommend this boat if your looking to get into kayak fishing for cheep great start in this boat. It tracks well moves easy through the water had out on lake Powell and big waves wasn't any trouble at all handled very well. I'm extremely happy with my boat thank you and enjoy May 17, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5áby Not as good as I thought it would be Its a decent kayak, but not that good for fishing. At least for what I do. Ok to start, it has holes in it, no really there are holes in the floor. So I take it out and my butt gets wet, my feet get wet, and worst of all, there is a hole in the cargo area, so all my gear got wet. Really, go to dicks and you will see the hole (I was an idiot and bought online). The next problem, I'm too big for it. I am 6'4''. and I am way to tall for it. I had to sit cross legged, which was fine at first, but then the kayak started digging in to my legs and made it really uncomfortable. It is very tippy. Every time I turned around to grab my wet gear (cause of the hole) I felt like I was going to tip it over. Ok I am a pretty extreme fisherman. I have caught musky and salmon from my canoe with no problem, so I really didn't put much thought in to how I will land fish from the kayak. Big mistake. I caught about a five pound pike and didn't know what to do. Trying to grab the pike while trying not to flip the kayak over was one scary to say the least. Once I was able to grab the pike, I almost lost my rod. See the rod holder is so far up you almost flip the kayak trying to put the rod in its holder. I could not imagine trying to fight a musky or a salmon, or even a large bass from this kayak. Over all, I think most people won't have the problems I had. Most people are not as big as me, and most people probably won't be musky fishing out of this kayak. If you just want a kayak you can fish on, this isn't bad. If you are buying this and plan on doing some crazy fishing, you may want to look at other kayaks and boats. O one last thing, I was not impressed by the customer service. I ordered it online, went to the store after I received the email saying it was ready for pick up and no one seemed to know I was coming to get it. After someone came and brought it to me, they just walked away. Didn't ask if I needed help putting it on my van, didn't ask if I had straps. Was not impressed. May 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Best deal for a fishing kayak anywhere I bought two of these kayaks when they went on sale for $450 each. Even at their original price they are worth it. I shopped around quite a bit and no other kayak out there gives you as much bang for your buck. It comes with all the accessories you need for fishing right away. Two fishing rod holders behind the seat, and the forward pivoting holder work great and I use them constantly. This kayak comes with small features that are nice too such as the paddle holders on each side (really nice when you have a rod in hand), and the anchor is great, I used it in a slow river and it kept me rooted in all the spots I wanted to cast for a bit. This kayak has decent speed and is good for touring as well. Positives: -Best price anywhere -Streamlined, good tracking and speed. -Comes with as many accessories and features as you could hope for. -Good to fishing right away Negatives: -Forward hold (seals well, but objects can slide back, easily remedied) -Seat is better than nothing, but you might want to upgrade. -Anchor: if you plan to use it, get a reel to stow the line on so it doesn't get tangled. -Anchor trolley: will work better if you extend it. *I bought the field and stream paddle with this, works great for me! Rated 4 out of 5áby Good value, lots of features Overall this was a great buy. It is very stable, I can even take my 2.5 year old (squirmy) son with me on short jaunts. That wouldn't be possible with a sit-in. Tons of dry storage under the front hatch, and a pretty good weight limit would allow for overnight trips pretty easily. The seat is pretty poor, but easily remedied by placing a boating cushion/pfd underneath. The scupper holes do let the water out...but they also let it in. My son and I were soaked in the first 5 minutes. Need to invest in some plugs! May 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great kayak for the money! This is a great and stable kayak with plenty of storage. However the seat is junk. Plan on purchasing a new seat. I modified the anchor trolley system to extend the length of the kayak rather than the 3 feet from the manufacturer. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. May 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Tracks beautifully! I bought this kayak per the recommendation of the salesman at Dick's when I described my needs and dissatisfaction with kayaks I've tried, and this kayak fit the bill perfectly. It tracks beautifully whether I'm in a river or ocean, very stable, yet it is also maneuverable. I agree with others about the seat not offering much support, so I've ordered a different one. Rated 4 out of 5áby Great kayak It is a great kayak for the money but the seat is the worst seat ever no back support at all so you will have to purchase a new seat but every thing else is great May 4, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Test Run Tons of room in both dry storage and on deck. (Dry storage stayed completely dry after sixteen mile maiden voyage.) Very stable and suprisingly maneuverable for its dimensions. I recommend upgrading the seat if you plan on lengthy trips. (Backside was hurting pretty bad after my 4 hour, 16 mile test run.) Online order and in store pick up was a snap. 4.5 / 5. May 3, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Good Kayak For the Money This is my third kayak and so far, has seemed to be a good purchase. The setup on the kayak is adequate, with two aft and one adjustable rod holder. Plenty of room to mount electronics. Scotty makes a mount rail for their products and I used one to mount a Scotty kayak/SUP transducer mounting arm along with a Scotty universal sounder/fish finder mount. This universal mount will fit directly in top of the mounting arm and make a single, clean install, plus you can adjust forward and aft as needed. The seat, as mentioned in several reviews, was not up to par in my opinion. I switched it out for an Ocean Kayak comfort plus seat and the comfort level is a little better. I looked for a seat like Perception is using in their Pescador 12 pro model, but did not find anything. I tried out one of those seats on a Pescador and it was very comfortable, kept me a little high off the deck of the boat, and was quick to dry. Maybe that Pescador seat would fit in this boat with a little modification..... Tracking is pretty good in both calm and rough water. Responsiveness is actually quite good. You can get this boat turned around in a very small area and in a short time. The boat is also fast and easy to get up a quick pace. This boat has been out with me for probably 10 or so times fishing since I have purchased it and I will say that it is a solid performer and a good boat for the price. April 26, 2016
