Rated 5 out of 5áby Great Yak Had it for a couple of weeks now. Tracks great and is pretty fast. Taken it to the river, lake, and even out in the Gulf. Great Kayak. May 26, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Talon 120 I just bought this Talon and it is great. Me and my oldest son use it in ponds right now and we are having a blast. So far 80 lbs of bass have been caught in 5 days. I give it 4 stars cause it should of come with plugs and is a little wobbly and hard to get out of at a dock. May 26, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Solid Starter Kayak This is my first Kayak. I picked this one because I am 6'5 tall and 300 lbs. I wanted one that would hold my weight. This is listed as holding 400 lbs of gear so I figured I was good. Some of the ones that would hold 500 lbs were more expensive. I have been out twice on a calm river section so far. Works as advertised. Due to my weight however the scupper holes allowed some water into the kayak. Not too bad in the seating area ( I had the two under my seat plugged. Got some water pooling by my feet and the cargo area behind the seat was flooded. My second time out I had plugged the other holes with scupper plugs and no water came in, problem solved. I bought a sponge I keep by the seat to pick up any water that splashes in. If I weighed about 250 lbs or less I don't think I would have to worry about the plugs. Don't feel cramped, decent leg room. The kayak handles well, haven't had it in any rough water yet. Due to sitting a little low in the water I do have to watch leaning to far too one side. Water comes over the side but not worried about flipping over. A little more practice and I should feel more comfortable. The seat for it is terrible, will replace in the future. After about 2-3 hours in it my back gets tired. A sturdier and taller back rest would be great. People complain the rod holder is too far forward but due to my long reach I can manage just fine to get the rod. Everything else works as advertised. I bought this one at Dick's for about $550. Two weeks later they had it on sale for $399. Went back to Dick's and they returned the difference. They have a 90 day price match thing going on in case this happens. No fuss. I would recommend this Kayak to anyone who is maybe a little smaller than me. Especially at the on sale price it's a great buy. For my first Kayak though I am happy and am going to enjoy fishing from it. Also the Kayak is about 65 lbs so a person of my size has no trouble taking it in and out of the truck. May 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Amazing product for the price ! Purchased on sale for $399. ! I must be dreaming. You can't buy a more equipped yak for this price anywhere. Solid construction, loads of quality features, good placement of cup and rod holders and netting and paddles great and tracks well. If F&S would fix a few items, this would be the Best yak on the market. Yes, the seat is a waste of time, but easily replaced with a GCI for $30. Front storage area can't be accessed easily while on water and rear area can't hold a milk crate. $399 on sale now- go buy one or two. May 25, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Nice fishing kayak for the money. The eagle talon 120 is a sturdy built kayak. I would like if it had mounts for out riggers. Im going to build my own outriggers and trolling transom for it. it can hold 400 pounds and seems unstable if you dont pack heavy enough. May 24, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Great buy Excellent for the money. I pushed this kayak to its limit on a multi day camping trip loaded down with gear and a heavy cooler with high winds and a choppy lake. Obviously when you're at the max recommended weight you will have some resistance but it still paddled very well and stable. Front dry storage hatch could have a bigger opening. The storage is incredibly generous though. May 24, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Great Value This was my first kayak.....Great value.....comes with a lot of ascessories. Would give it five stars but the seat is horrible. May 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Amazing boat Leonani was very helpful and went out of her way to help me get my new boat. I love it it's a very nice boat for the price, I would recommend this boat if your looking to get into kayak fishing for cheep great start in this boat. It tracks well moves easy through the water had out on lake Powell and big waves wasn't any trouble at all handled very well. I'm extremely happy with my boat thank you and enjoy May 17, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5áby Not as good as I thought it would be Its a decent kayak, but not that good for fishing. At least for what I do. Ok to start, it has holes in it, no really there are holes in the floor. So I take it out and my butt gets wet, my feet get wet, and worst of all, there is a hole in the cargo area, so all my gear got wet. Really, go to dicks and you will see the hole (I was an idiot and bought online). The next problem, I'm too big for it. I am 6'4''. and I am way to tall for it. I had to sit cross legged, which was fine at first, but then the kayak started digging in to my legs and made it really uncomfortable. It is very tippy. Every time I turned around to grab my wet gear (cause of the hole) I felt like I was going to tip it over. Ok I am a pretty extreme fisherman. I have caught musky and salmon from my canoe with no problem, so I really didn't put much thought in to how I will land fish from the kayak. Big mistake. I caught about a five pound pike and didn't know what to do. Trying to grab the pike while trying not to flip the kayak over was one scary to say the least. Once I was able to grab the pike, I almost lost my rod. See the rod holder is so far up you almost flip the kayak trying to put the rod in its holder. I could not imagine trying to fight a musky or a salmon, or even a large bass from this kayak. Over all, I think most people won't have the problems I had. Most people are not as big as me, and most people probably won't be musky fishing out of this kayak. If you just want a kayak you can fish on, this isn't bad. If you are buying this and plan on doing some crazy fishing, you may want to look at other kayaks and boats. O one last thing, I was not impressed by the customer service. I ordered it online, went to the store after I received the email saying it was ready for pick up and no one seemed to know I was coming to get it. After someone came and brought it to me, they just walked away. Didn't ask if I needed help putting it on my van, didn't ask if I had straps. Was not impressed. May 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Best deal for a fishing kayak anywhere I bought two of these kayaks when they went on sale for $450 each. Even at their original price they are worth it. I shopped around quite a bit and no other kayak out there gives you as much bang for your buck. It comes with all the accessories you need for fishing right away. Two fishing rod holders behind the seat, and the forward pivoting holder work great and I use them constantly. This kayak comes with small features that are nice too such as the paddle holders on each side (really nice when you have a rod in hand), and the anchor is great, I used it in a slow river and it kept me rooted in all the spots I wanted to cast for a bit. This kayak has decent speed and is good for touring as well. Positives: -Best price anywhere -Streamlined, good tracking and speed. -Comes with as many accessories and features as you could hope for. -Good to fishing right away Negatives: -Forward hold (seals well, but objects can slide back, easily remedied) -Seat is better than nothing, but you might want to upgrade. -Anchor: if you plan to use it, get a reel to stow the line on so it doesn't get tangled. -Anchor trolley: will work better if you extend it. *I bought the field and stream paddle with this, works great for me!
