ok works great for my fishing kayak its great for a temp light but if you want a cheap visible light i would recommend this one January 18, 2013
low quality but does the job I purchased this stern light for use on my 14ft fishing boat. After playing and bending the metal battery contacts I finally got it to work. The light is bright enough to do the job. The clamp, however, is of poor design. The light with two D batteries is way too heavy for the post and clamp included. They should really find a way to have the batteries on the base of the unit. Other than those things it seems to work as described. April 9, 2012
Don't bother What seems like a perfectly good idea has been made useless by poor design and workmanship. Building a stern light out of a flashlight makes sense. The light is bright and would appear to work well, until you put batteries in the flashlight and it becomes so heavy that the clamp cannot hold it in place. Perhaps, if the clamp was properly suited to the job, it would work better, but the plastic threads on the clamp strip way too easily. August 9, 2011
