Could of used a wrench
We purchased a bike for my daughter from Dicks and thought it would be a great idea to get a bike rack, that we were in the market for anyways. The Salesperson was excellent in explaining the pros and cons about each one that they had. We decided on this one and we took it out to the parking lot to put it on our vehicle. It went together very quickly except for the fact that the bolts needed to be tightened down. Normally you get a "throw away" wrench with these types of things but not with this. We were fortunate enough to be near a store that sold tools and for a minimal amount of money we purchased a few monkey wrenches and got everything snugged up tight for our trip home. It is very well constructed and We love the tip down option so we can still access our back hatch.

Great Product
The bike rack is outstanding. The value you get for your dollar is also very good. I looked at many types some costing much more and found for the cost that this rack seemed to be the best and it have proven to be true.

Not for the price.
The anti-woble hitch kept coming loose because I had to use the adapter because I have a 2 inch receiver. Also, The rubber cap pops off every time I would lean the rack out to access my hatch. Rubber straps hold the bikes nice and tight however they make it difficult to load the bike because they catch every cable.

Just need to change one thing
I just finished fabricating and installing the new bike rack. I bought this unit so I would have increased portability. Unfortunately the keeper pen that inserts into the vehicle hitch is threaded. So I have to crawl under my vehicle each time I need to install or remove the bike rack from my vehicle. So I would suggest that the manufacturer change the keeper pen to a slide in type that emulates a trailer hitch unit. I am hoping to find a slide type pen that can be used on this unit. That's my honest critique!

Plastic Mounts Move On Arms
I used this carrier to transport one bike about 600 miles. The bike moved, as it was on plastic mounts that moved up the arms because of wind resistance on the bike. At the end of the trip, the bike was all cattywhompus, with the front tire hitting the bumper, and the back tire at a 50 degree angle to the rear bumper, laying diagonally across the arms of the bike carrier. I am disappointed Yakima would engineer something like this. Structurally, the carrier is heavily built, but this oversight is inexcusable. Those mounts should be engineered not to move during transit. The only reason the bike and mounts did not completely move off the arms, or to the end of the arms, was because I had a strap on the bike to keep it on, which served the purpose of only keeping a portion of it from moving.

Sturdy as it looks.
Solid and sturdy using a 2" receiver. One CF road bike and 2 mtn bikes--1 Alu, 1 CF--were all I wanted to fit on this carrier. Enjoyed that the lock was included and the fold down carrier to access the rear of our Tuscon (small suv). The elastic straps were strong but it takes stronger hands to snap them on. Wish the top rack folded down when not carrying bikes. Ant that it was made of Alu or CF--but then who could afford it?

decent rack system
I needed a new 4-bike hitch before a camping trip. This rack fit my mens dualsport bike just fine. My wife's bike was a bit awkward to mount. I got it to work but I'll eventually will need to get an aftermarket cross bar for transporting it efficiently. The 2" receiver adapter seemed to have a little more "play" than I would like. I'm not sure if that is the tolerance in the truck hitch or the Yakima insert. I tried to make up the slight difference with some thin strips of UHMW plastic. This helped minimize the wobble. This rack has a tilt/hinge feature for SUV tailgates, etc. I have a Honda Ridgeline and i was happy to see that this rack tilted far enough out of the way to clear both directions for my dual swing tailgate. Good rack for the money.

easy installation, good purchase
We transport 3 bikes on our bike rack easily, it is made for 4. It is easy to take on and off of our vehicle. We have a BMW X3. When the bikes are mounted on the rack, the bike tires are in front of the brake lights. They are still visible, but not totally unobstructed. Overall, we are happy with the purchase.
