Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 35 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Value Fairly easy to install. Looks and feels well built. Only drawback is the rubber straps kinda hard to lock would be easier with ratchet style straps. April 2, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice bike rack Functional, takes a while to set-up. Handles 3 bicycles. Would buy again. March 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by heavy duty Yakima products are top drawer this rack can hold 3 bikes and its well built and sturdy and I would recommend this product for trunk style installs March 25, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good product, poor info re: auto model compatibility The bike rack was great - arrived as promised. Product description said it would fit Toyota Camrys. Not until I received the product was there any mention that it would only fit Camrys through model year 2011. (Mine is a 2012.) VERY frustrating. I recommend the product with the caveat that it is not compatible with any cars with spoilers (large, small or in between.) October 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by A sturdy bike rack for many vehicle applications The Yakima MegaJoe Elite bike rack has proven to be a sturdy, well-made rack offered at a reasonable price. Purchased this item to tote two of my bikes to Hilton Head Island and had zero drama with it. I question the blogs on this item which stated the rack was difficult to set up, but I had no issues. As the rack can fit many vehicles, it has adjustable angle devices which must be measured and locked in place for each application. This is very critical for both on-road safety and bike protection, so do not deviate from your vehicle's measurement. This is the only issue I have with these type of carriers, as every time you want to flatten the carrier to store, you will need to re-measure and lock the unit back in its open position to use it. The best thing about this carrier is the three-bike adjustable holders that use three rubberized straps to lock each bike securely in place - which keeps them from sliding into each other. As I have a good amount of money invested in several beautiful bikes, I appreciate this system - when carefully loaded, the bikes stay away from each other, so painted and polished surfaces do not not get scratched. Rated 2 out of 5 by Six arms need to assemble Directions are not clear on how to mount this product. It took 1.5 hours to finally get it onto my car. There was still quite a bit of wobble and is definitely NOT secure. Also, anyone walking by could easily slip the hooks off the trunk and walk off with the rack. THEN I had trouble pulling the rubber bike mounts around my bike frame and an even more difficult time getting the bike off. I almost got a blade to cut through the rubber. NOT HAPPY. Rated 5 out of 5 by Another Quality Dicks Purchase Solid, holds the bikes steady, coated hinges(?) that latch onto the car to resist scratching. VERY happy with this purchase. !!! September 12, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sturdy unit I wish I had had the sales rep that helped me this time on my last trip to Dick's when looking for a bike rack for my car. This item has rubber straps and held my bike very securely on a cross country trip - I was not worried at all about my bike coming loose. Thanks! September 8, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good, major flaw I purchased this for use on an SUV. I read the directions and reviewed prior to installation. The first go-round with installation took me about an hour total with tweaking and modifiying. Only after I loaded the second bike did I see in the directions that when the rack is mounted using the glass hook installation, that only 2 bikes can be hauled. It doesn't say this on the box, so if you buy this without reading the directions online first (available at yakima), you will be disappointed to not be able to haul 3 bikes. It will work fine for 2 bikes using the SUV glass hooks, but 3 bikes is too much weight. Very disappointed to have to return it it and do more research to see if any of the 3 bike systems will work. Rated 2 out of 5 by Bicycle rack a real puzzler This bicycle rack is a problem wrapped inside a dilemma enclosed in a puzzle! We bought this model on the salesman Nick (the snowboarder) at the Downers Grove, IL store for our Dodge van. My husband the engineer cannot figure out how to install it, so we haven't. I'm usually good at spatial things, but this is just too much. Seems to be sturdy and of good quality, but I cannot be sure because we haven't been able to install it. It sits on the basement floor after several attempts at installation. Will have to take it back to the store to see if they can help. Only recommend this if you are really good at installing things. The directions and drawings are not clear. August 6, 2013
