Boys Love It We set this up in the finished basement with a catch net behind the machine. Our 12-16 year old boys use a hard plastic or mini bat with it (the red metal SKLZ bat marks up the walls & carpet!) It is harder than it looks, when you set it up 10-15 feet away, the ball comes in really fast. They and their friends have a great time with it! Buy the machine & extra balls, skip the SKLZ bats! AWESOME! I have no idea what those neg comments are about. As soon as I set this up it was nothing but consistant pure fun. This will keep me pretty occupy this winter. September 27, 2012
Sklz lighting bolt This product is meant to be used within 10 feet of the batter. It isn't a cheap version of a pitching machine. I bought it for 2 boys both 6 and 10. Its meant to help them with hand eye coordination. It will do that. It will not teach them how to hit a curve. If you are looking for a pitching maching be prepared to spend over $300. This is absolutely a great tool for helping your child with hand eye coordination and bat speed. If they can hit these balls on the button then they will hit a baseball. BTW, the boys thought it was fun as well. Downside is that balls can easily be lost and they are expensive. May 10, 2012
Great Practice When I use this I do admit that you have to get close to it. I play high school baseball and if I stand about 10 feet away or so it is like hitting an 80 mph fast ball because it piches about 30. People just need to relize that you can not hit off of it at normal distance. You have to adjust yourself to how fast you want it to pitch to you. You can adjust the highth by a knob on the back. This improved my hitting by a bunch. May 4, 2012
piece of trash Extremely flimsy, barely pitches the ball 15 feet. Dicks should be ashamed that they are stealing [$] for this. Even worse is what they are charging for balls. March 2, 2012
DO NOT BUY! i didnt have a problem with gettin close to it to make it pitch fast but i took about 1 minute for the machne to pitch returned to the store August 22, 2011
Horrible product We bought this product several weeks ago. Many problems. 1) - without batteries the base is too light to keep the thing upright. 2) pitches balls way too inconsistently - only 5 of 24 balls on average stay in the strike zone, the others fall short or fly left or right - so bad we think the unit could be defective. 3) slow as a dog -barely makes it 20 feet. For kids of age to hit the bolz balls, the speed is not effective training. Taking it back to store. August 4, 2011
