Prevent Pressure Sores. Used as Seating Option.
Prevent pressure sores, and pinched nerves.
I am a wheelchair user. And, I know a little about sitting. Comfort is where its at.
To sit on this ball, DO NOT FILL it all the way. Fill it so that it hovers you over the bottom inside. So the inside of the sitting surface does not touch the the inside of the bottom surface when you sit on, well more kind of in the ball in this state.
The ball will look completely unlike a ball when you are not sitting on it. It will look all misshaped and very flat compared to the normal image of a ball you expect.
The first thing with will notice is that you wobble, you will adjust to this in about a month. It is also good for gently strengthening your core muscles. It will be like sitting on jello at first, and you might want to not use it this way.
If you need, let a little air out, until it is a little more stable. Make sure you sit where you have your feet both flat on the floor, like in a normal chair. DO NOT swing the feet, this places a lot of pressure on the back of the thighs, that can cause trouble over time with nerves. Use a foot stool if needed.
The ball is holding air just fine so far. Comes with a little pump, and two stem style plugs to slide into the ball fill hole.
Inside the ball is a little bag of sand or something that slides around, and can be noisy. It is to keep the ball from rolling off if you use it as a ball. it is an odd sensation to feel it move around as you move the ball. Just know it is annoying, and when the ball is at rest, it is quiet.
I will be buying 2 or 3 more of these for use: One where I sit now, one in my wheelchair cushion cover, one on the couch. One as a spare.
The products has a new plastic rubber like smell. This is called out gassing, and is potentially something that can cause headaches, or other issues. So let it air out in the garage or other room with good airflow.
I will be telling people all about these, on my live webcast (online show), and how to use them as a seating option to prevent pressure sores. Where to nuy these at, and how I am enjoying my comfort.
Just got the ball today, and will update as needed.

Good Value, Don't Like the Sand.
I wasn't paying attention when I bought this item and didn't realize it was weighted with sand. The ball is decent and I use it all the time but the sand is noisy when I pick up and move the ball around. Personally, I think a stability ball should be weighted down.

Thrive Iron Filled Balance Ball
Horrible product. I had to return it. It does not hold the air. Needs to be pumped up daily. Very disappointed in product and that Dick's sells this to the consumer. Not good.

Good to sit on
I sit a lot at work and wanted to engage more muscles while I am sitting. The size,as recommended on the box, works well. The ball is comfortable to sit on and does not roll away.

Very cheap stability ball
Spend an extra $10 and get a higher quality stability ball. Losses air very quickly; have to keep refilling the ball.
