This product has great power I purchased the abu Garcia off the clearance rack. It was such a great price it was hard to pass up. I went back a few days later and there more on the rack still hard to pass up so I bought another one. their light weight and heavy action I think will make a great jig rod.I matched it up with a Lew's baitcast reel from Dick's also. Great setup! As soon as I save some more money I will be back to get another Lew's reeel for the other rod. May 21, 2013
Veritas Flippin' Stick The good - extremely light for a 7'0" heavy action rod, extremely sensitive with a comfortable feel. The bad - spent all day re tightening the reel seat clamp. I tried everything short of using my pliers but I didn't want to damage the aluminum ring. May 14, 2013

Great rod at an excellent price I have purchased three of the Veritas casting rods (7'6" medium heavy, 7' medium heavy, and 7' medium) and love all three of them. They are very lightweight, and they are well balanced and great casters. I have a round reel mounted on the largest rod and low-profiles on the other two, and all of them feel good. I find that I am more accurate with the Veritas rods than with others that I own (including some Dick's store-brand rods). I have caught several bass and pike on the rods, and they have stood up very well to the test. I'm planning on getting the 7'11" model, and I'll be covered for almost all of the lures that I cast. Problems This is my third one. The first broke on half on the first hook set. The next one had an eye pop off we will see hoe the third one works September 11, 2012
Fabulous Rod Ive had all kinds of rods, went through the sub 100 dollar range this season only to arrive at the Veritas. This rod is a tank yet sensitive. Its got enough backbone for Kayak / slop fishing which is what I do. Will buy another. The only "drag" is that it so long its not that easy to transport on my Rubicon. September 10, 2012
not perfect .but very good I'm a strong guy so this my be my fault, I broken two of the medium action rods now. I also have two med-heavy which are great to me. All the rods are super sensitive and very lite. As far as buying more I'll stick to the heavier ones . August 6, 2012
Had problems Snapped in half on the first hook set. Good news is it was replaced , no problems. July 16, 2012
one of the best rods i have ever used I was fishing pickwick lake and broke my best All star rod,replace it with the veritas,i am going to buy two more July 3, 2012
