would recommend The reel performs as advertised. Have had no problems in performance or durability. Use the 300 and 400 models for bay bass, halibut, yellowtail and white sea bass. All fishing is done by kayak and usually just give it a real quick rinse in fresh water when I am done. Would recomend this reel for those that do not want to spen a ton of moner for a reel. only thing I wish it had was a clicker. September 21, 2012
Not Impressed Was under the impression, because of information provided by both Dicks and Shimano that this reel was a saltwater reel. Went fishing for Black Sea Bass and had an enormous amount of difficulty even handling 8 and 9 pound fish. I couldnt imagine if I happen to land a 30 pound stripper on this rinky dink toy reel. Description should not say approved for saltwater. June 16, 2012
