This reel is junk Have owned shimano reels my whole life and comparing this reel with my older stradic reels Well there's no comparison. I bought a new stradic reel and smoked the reel on a 15 lb striper. It started making a grinding noise while reeling and then jammed up. I have caught many fish on my older stradic reels and still use them to this day. In my opinion the new Stradics are not worth the money March 10, 2013
Fantastic reel! Worth the $$$ This is the best reel I've ever owned. It's so light and stong and super-smooth. It seems to hold well to a lot of abuse as well. Just regular lubrication is all I've doen for the last year. Use it every weekend! September 6, 2012
A mighty fine reel! I'm the type guy that takes 10 times longer to make a decision to buy a product than most others. I'm a comparison shopper. After weeks of investigation and putting my hands on one, I decided to purchase the CI4 due to it's product ratings and reviews. The only thing I'm not happy about is the purchase price and that is why I rated it four stars. But nevertheless, I plan on buying another one in the near future. August 21, 2012
Excellent reel This is my 3rd Stradic, I generally take all 3 out with me when fishing in the coastal rivers around central Florida with a different rig on each. They've quickly become my favorite reel and I'm in the process of changing my other 2 setups over to them as well. Very smooth casting, hassle free operation, easy to adjust drag. I really don't have any complaints at all with these reels and would highly recommend them. July 30, 2012
Light but weak I have 8 of them... I should have waited to buy in large quantity. They are super light and I got excited. The drag is not bad, the reel flexes some but not to bad. But the Cap on the reel handle needs to be tighten after just about every long weekend trip. The clicker on the drag jumps and stops making the noise... Somewhat of an easy fix but on a new reel it is annoying! Very annoying. I am a big Shimano person but this reel has let me down!! I think it can be great with a little tweaking on their part. I have some of the older stradics and have alway been very pleased. This is the first model that I have had problems with. June 26, 2012
Great durable light Bought the smallest model for trout fishing. I had never experienced such a great all around reel. It casts long and accurate. It also has a smooth as hell retrieve. It is pricey but you will love every minute using it. I am also going to buy a larger model for bass fishing because I love it. Nothing bad to say about this reel; it would be impossible to have a negative comment about this reel. If someone does say something bad about it , its because they don't have one and want it.
