Penn Fishing reel I still prefer my Mitchell 300 reels as parts are always available, but the Penn reel is definately ok. I caught a 23" albino catfish last Saturday using the Penn, with 6lb line. See attached pic. May 7, 2013

Love PENN Jr I fish with PENN Reels exclusively now after having bought cheaper reels and getting tired of replacing them after hooking up with a nice fish or exposure to the elements in one summer. I love the drag on PENN reels and the toughness of them. I bough this smaller reel for the same reason and its a nice reel and works just like the larger PENN's. No issues with it and so far well worth the $$$. I would rather have a few good rods and reels that last forever than a million cheap ones. February 5, 2013

Penn Fierce reels are great for the money Tog fished the jetty and had no problem pulling up an 18 incher. Used it on a 9 ft plug rod and no problem reeling in a 34 inch stripe bass while wading waist deep in the surf. Overall great product. November 14, 2012

Great reel for rockfishing The retreval rate is excelent. Line feed out without andy snagging. There is no reverse button like some other reels but are using it for several weeks I have adjusted. Bail closes quickly and I have snapped the line as the results of this happening September 20, 2012
