Coleman Scanoe Canoe 4.3 5 64 64
1st time Boat/Canoe Owner Scanoe 14' @ 80 lbs, Very manageable for 70 year old male, Being used in South Carolina Inlets. Fishing, Birding, exploring Salt Marsh's, Price can't be beat. Very stable. November 18, 2014
Scanoe is good score I just bought a 14 ft scanoe. Took it out on Klamath lake with a buddy. It is very steady, and has lots of room. I plan to add a trolling motor for next summer adventure. It only weighs 85 lbs. So Me being just 168 lbs could handle putting it on my vehicle rack. November 15, 2014
Cannot reach trim lever We bought this canoe because of the transom mount. I am 6' 4" and cannot come close to reaching the button to trim the motor regardless of which way I sit. Even on my knees facing backward, it is just too far to the back of the boat. I have a telescoping control on my trolling motor but steering was uncomfortable. Over all the boat was tippy and uncomfortable. This is by far the worst recreational purchase I have ever made. September 23, 2014
Room for everyone My husband bought the Scanoe and has had it out a few time. Plenty of room for him and are sons ages 13 and 10 along with all the fishing gear. Great out on the lakes and ponds we have around. For the sale price of 299 can't beat it. August 13, 2014
Great for price Love this canoe. Got it for $300. However, very unstable, and it's usually me, my wife, and 4 year old. I also looked for canoe stabilizers, and they cost almost as much as the boat. So, I looked on YouTube a DIY canoe stabilizer, and now we're all good. Cost me less than $40 to make. Overall, great canoe. Stability questionable. Great for one adult and child. Maybe two adults. But for three people, I recommend stabilizing. July 29, 2014
Great canoe Boy Scouts loved this canoe. They have taken it out twice. Plenty of room for 3 people for a canoe trip down the river, room for 2 people fishing with gear. July 24, 2014
Nice family canoe Just purchased a week and a half ago. Canoe with my wife and daughter. We really like it. Moves through the water well. July 15, 2014
Great for the price Good for the price. If you are a heavy person it is more unstable. July 12, 2014
Newly purchased and loving it Recently purchased a new 14' Scanoe at Dick's, had to drive an hour to find one in stock as they were all sold out in closer locations (tells you something right there) I strapped it to my car roof and drove an hour home at 55 mph and it stayed attached to vehicle without a problem. We've used it twice so far in the first week and it is light enough for my wife and I to carry easily. We paddled upstream for 5-6 miles on each trip and flowed with the current back to our vehicle. It is very manueverable (if you know a bit about canoing, which I do) on the two rivers we paddled on. We used two single oar paddles and had no problems putting it where ever we wished to go. Roomy enough for some snacks and drinks in a rucksack, attached a line to the bow for anchoring or mooring when stopped and even brought our small dog along since it was so well balanced. With a few small extras, life preserver seat pads, paddles and a stretchy net to secure our rucksack cost was around $400 for everything. I would definitely recommend this item and look forward to many many hours of pleasure aboard. July 6, 2014
Great Value & Quality Have been out on this Scanoe several times now and am very pleased. Great square stern for the money and very durable. Just throw your gear in the canoe and pull it down to the lake. I bought a canoe cart as well but find I don't use it that often as I just drag the canoe easy enough. I am 6' and 220lbs. The kids have also pulled it down on their own. Hull in great shape and shows light surface scratches only. On the water it is stable for a canoe and best in calm water like most canoes.. I have been out with my 2 older teenagers, on my own, the kids on their own and loaded up with lots of gear and with nothing but life jackets and a paddle - it has performed well all the time. I have not had any rivet issues and have had lots of weight in the boat while portaging it. I am not worried about the rivets if they do go. It is a very easy & cheap fix, there really is very little if anything that can go wrong with this canoe. Should last for many years of fun. Also, I use a 30 lb thrust trolling motor with a 35 amp 12v agm cell (wheelchair battery) and even fully loaded (3 large people, cooler, rods, radio, life jackets, motor, battery, bait, oars (just in case), etc etc.) it moves us along great and have been out all day without running the battery down. I don't run it on max very often though and do a lot of coasting. Recommended. July 5, 2014
