I recently camped in Joshua Tree. I purchased these dry bags before my trip. I was so glad I did. We had a good solid downpour during our time there. These bags helped keep all of my gear dry - including my cell phone! They are also nice and light weight.

Not waterproof, but water resistant. I would imagine with alittle help (spray on tent sealer) these would be a good product. Considering the price, I am not totally disappointed. I used them for clothing on a hike a couple weeks ago which provided a soggy day. After two hours of heavy rain and no sun to dry, the clothes I had inside the sacks were mildly damp. I will continue to use the dry sacks. I am recommending them below under the impression the consumer knows what he/she is getting for the price.

Does not keep things dry, nor does it float without assistance being put into the bag with your items. If the bag is upside down in the water, the stuff falls right out and will sink if they aren't in a separate baggie with a bobber or something that will float the item.

So far these have worked well in limited use. Some items felt "damp" but I suspect that was condensation because of very cold water.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JJFG Holds water very well for a dry bag.
I bought these because it seemed to be a good deal for a three pack of dry bags. I expected they would at least keep things dry. The bags do not actually seal but fold together and are held together by clipping the little clip. OK maybe that is how they work. Not! I put a scrap of paper into one and clipped it together. I then put it down into the water and swished it around. A dry bag should keep things dry even in water right. After pulling the bag out I found it to be about 1/4 full of water. The clipped seal moved open. How well are these things going the keep heaver gear dry if the seal can't hold with a little movement. It's a good thing that I only need a storage bag and not an actual dry bag or they would so be returned. I do not recommend these nor will I purchase them again.

I took these bags both on a canoe trip and a fishing trip and they both stayed dry when exposed to water. The bags clip to themselves and around anything, I clipped them around the canoe seat, same in the row boat. 3 sizes make it convenient to bring what you need.

I used the small one while kayaking to keep my keys and cell phone in - I didn't expect to capsize, but was thoroughly thrilled to see that the bag kept them dry and floating so we could quickly and easily rescue them! Too bad I wasn't as lucky, lol!

Purchased these for their smaller size and lightwieght fabric. For a product that's called a "dry bag" you'd expect them to keep the contents dry. I used them exactly as directed and found the medium sized bag to be holding water at the end of the first day of my trip. So after removing my items I filled it with water to see where the leak was and was surprised to see the the seam down one side and across the bottom was the culprit. While these might be good for light backpacking I would never trust them to keep any critical gear dry. Hopefully they will stand by their product and replace it.
