Rated 5 out of 5 by Paul2902 Superior Quality With Ease of Installation This item is the superior product for hoisting a kayak in the ceiling of a garage. It is easy to install if the directions are followed. Some users think that this unit cannot be used unless the rafters in the garage run in the same direction as the kayak will be. This problem can easily be overcome as shown in the photo that I have posted. Also, as the photo shows, I have hoisted two kayaks one on top of the other thus saving space. Also, both are over the top of my SUV hood which is space that would not have been used for anything else anyway. The CargoLoc is the best choice of all the hoists that I have seen for strength, overall quality and ease of installation. June 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by fire1717 Excellent Product for the Price!! I was a bit wary when I initially made the purchase because of the price. I thought, how could anything worth $30 possibly get such high reviews? But then again, for $30, it was worth the risk. I am happy to report back that this product is worth every penny and more. Easy to install with the instructions and does an excellent job of holding my kayak. May 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hoppy Fantastic product Easy to install and works as advertised. I was going to go to the hardware store make up a system myself. Why bother, for $30 this did what I wanted better than I could have jerry-rigged something. February 26, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by Geek60 Good Value I was surprised with the quality of this hoist for the cost. Very good quality harware. The lifting rope is not the greatest, but it gets the job done. Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. I bought this product based on earlier reviews of it being a good value and I found that to be very true. I used this one for my kayak. I'll get another for my bike. January 24, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Daniel559 Easy to install I installed this in about 45 minutes.I just wish my garage was about 2 feet taller. If your garage ceiling or beams are not 10 feet from the floor, you might want to make sure you have clearance from cars. January 23, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Texaspicker Not recommended for a kayak I wrote a prior review, before I installed this system and put it to use. While it looked like it was going to be great, I found that lifting a 64 lb kayak with it was impossible! I do bench butterflies with 65 lb dumbbells, and I can pick up my kayak directly, but I cannot exert enough force to lift my kayak off the ground with this pulley system. The only way I could lift the kayak was to keep tension on the rope and lift each end at a time from underneath, until it was in the overhead position. Otherwise, it requires 2 people to operate. I don't know why there is not enough leverage to lift such a modest amount of weight, but it simply does not work. I would not recommend it for a kayak, unless you have someone to assist with the lift. January 16, 2016
