Doesn't fit above garage door Returned it. It wouldn't work in my garage. It hung too low to fit above the garage door. February 27, 2015
Gargage Hoist Not good I took it back because it hangs too low. The hardware looks good but it will hang down about 3-4 feet February 24, 2015
Works well and is sturdy. I purchased two and they work well. Can hoist 10 and 16 foot kayaks fairly easily and unassisted. Hardware is solid and everything fit together well as designed. Expect that rope line will need to be replaced at some point but that should be easy. Be aware that the system will result in the top of a kayak being about one foot below ceiling surface. In my nine ft high ceiling that means bottom of kayak will be at about 7 feet. Enough clearance for me and most cars but maybe not a large SUV February 3, 2015
Easy end-user use. Product was easy to install and to operate even with one person. January 13, 2015
Just as Described. This is your basic ceiling mounted kayak hoist. I have installed two of these in my garage. One for my kayak & the other to hold two paddle boards. Everything is working just peachy so far. January 8, 2015
works well I use this to get a full size hockey net out of the way so we can park two cars in the garage and it works great. One of the lag bolts sheared off screwing it in but I bought a new one and replaced. December 27, 2014
We got what we paid for The brackets and mechanical elements seem adequate to hold our 65 pound canoe plus a bit more. Proper anchoring is essential for heavier items. The line connecting the pulleys could be better as they seem to be woven with multiple shorter fibers, leaving loose ends sticking out along most of the many feet of line. We've had it up in the air for over a week with no problem. I was hoping for a single line to pull, but the system has a double line loop which may make more sense. A definite space saver for long term, off-season storage. December 17, 2014
Hangs low While the equipment is sturdy and not too complicated to assemble, unless your garage ceilings are very high (closer to the 14' range) you will bang your head or SUV into your kayak, as they hang a couple feet down, as pictured. The other problem is the bracket that attaches to the ceiling; it only works of your joists run the same direction as you want the kayak to hang: the two bolts that attached to a joist have to go in lengthwise. If that works for you, it seems strong enough. December 9, 2014
Engineered pretty well Works great! Once the rope is installed correctly after the bible of confusing directions, one person is definatly able to do the job. The only bad i can give is that the quality of the rope is not good 3-5 uses and threads break more and more each time. I will have to buy a new rope soon December 4, 2014
This ceiling hoist works very well. The hoist was easy to install. The installation instructions were easy to understand and accurate. The hoist holds our 14.5ft canoe up close to the ceiling, higher than I expected. December 2, 2014
