Rated 5 out of 5 by best for the money: works great Easy to install and works well, if you need to store a kayak overhead this is the product. June 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent storage system What can I say? Easy installation, quality material, simple to use. Highly recommended. June 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works great I read the reviews of several hoists and selected this based on feedback and price. It was easy to install and I had it mounted and the kayak attached in about 30 minutes. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, especially when it came to threading the rope though the pulleys. Two things that helped me, based on other user feedback and not in the instructions: 1. measure your kayak where you want the straps to go around; use this measurement to mark the distance between the pulleys on the ceiling. 2. Add an extra strap under the kayak to hold the two straps provided (making an "H" shape) from sliding. This made the kayak much more stable when lifting. May 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My 4th hoist This is my 4th of these hoists. I have 2 single sit in kayaks (40-50 lb. each), 1 tandem SOT (about 75 lb.), and a canoe (about 80 lb.). They keep the boats high enough to not have to duck. The brake holds the entire weight and the tie off is just for a backup. I have put the 2 singles stacked on top of each other in 1 hoist, but it is not very convenient, which is why I purchased a 4th. This is a great product, not difficult to hang, and easy to take the boats in and out of. May 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Price was right for this product. I have not had a chance to install this product, but from all indications it will be easy to install. I am looking for to having my kayak off the ground and out of the way especially when I do not use it during the winter months. If this hoist works out okay I will purchase another one for the other kayak. May 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This product was a good buy It was easy to assemble and a good price. The only thing that was a problem was the height. It is not quite as high as we would like it. Also make sure your rafters (it this is what you have in your garage) are running the right way if you plan on dropping your kayak on your roof top. April 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by May work well for bikes but not for kayaks Fairly good instructions, but it still took me 5 hours to get it I n placeImagine my surprise when the enclosed straps didn, t cinch tightly enough to hold the kayak hi b en than 5 feet off the ground. Not recommended April 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by CargoLoc Garage Hoist I like it better after a few adjustments. I originally put the unit up per the instructions then had to move the pulleys further apart, the ropes were pulling against the lock mechanism making it hard to lower the kayak. I had to use the hooks in the front and back handles of the kayak for two reasons: 1) the straps kept wanting to slide toward the end of the kayak and I didn't want it falling on my wife's car, and 2) I needed to get the kayak up higher because of a low ceiling in the garage. Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth the money It was easy to hang and very strong. I am holding about 50 lbs. I wish there was a horizontal trap holding the two vertical traps together so the straps wouldn't slip off the end, but I simply used a string to tie the two together. I have no worries that this will hold for a long time. April 27, 2014
