good feeling combo but tore up soon
bought combo at dicks.....worked good for a few times out ,then the arm that has the pin to hold the line kept slipping off of the peice that opened the bail..

Don't get it for the easy cast
Bought for the wife. Overall avg rod and spinner. The easy cast system is cheaply made and will break after a couple of uses.

Poor build quality
I purchase this rod and reel combo for my wife so she could go fishing with me. I brought her out to a field so she could do some test casting and the snapshot trigger kept failing/not working. We had to take the snapshot off the reel to get it to cast. I would say that if they combo didn't have the snapshot it is decent for a beginner.

Waste of money......
I fish approximately 3-5 times a week and have around 40 rods and reels. I recently bought this combo for my mother. When I was a child I had a Shimano reel which featured the easy cast feature and I loved it. Now let's talk about my first trip with my mom with the new reel. First cast it breaks !!! The piece of metal that clicks the bell over falls out of position. I take my leatherman and take it apart to get it to work. A few cast later it happens again. I take it apart remove the metal piece and she fishes with that but at this point it was a frustrating day. I know this was not an expensive reel but it should work......and they are marketing it for breast cancer..that is a shame. I bought her a little sienna and it seems like the rod will work but have not tested it. All was not lost I did catch a 10lb snakehead that morning.....with a Shimano.....

Good for the price.
This rod and reel is a pretty good system for your average fisherman. The biggest problem I have had with it though is loops occur frequently but that can be solved if you keep your eye on the line.
