easy to use
Very easy to use and does what its intended for. Could be better straps but they do work. Perfect for our rackless car.

solves the problem
I already had some ratchet straps so after reading other reveiws I decided to use them to secure the racks to the roof. That is the only change I made. I made three trips over the next 3 days to different lakes in the area traveling at speeds up to 65mph. This product worked great. The kayak never moved. The roof rack never slid. When the system was removed from the car there were no marks or damage of any kind. I would suggest using a tip from another review I read--twist the straps a few times on the secure lines that go to the front and back bumpers-- it really does reduce the strap vibration dramatically. Also you should trim the straps after installation to prevent them from blowing all over the place and make the following hook ups easier.l For those with a small car wondering if it would work for them--I drive a Toyota Corolla. I am glad I bought this product.

Works! Quick to set up and take down.
We've used this product to haul two kayaks. Only local trips so far, but the carrier has worked well.

Not perfect, but pretty good
I use this rack system to strap my 13 foot kayak to my car. overall this is a nice substitute to a more expensive roof rack. It's easy enough to install and uninstall. all the pieces fit inside the cockpit of my kayak so storage is easy. The "Chromate buckles" have a tendancy to loosen at speeds higher than 50mph. They will work fine at lower speeds and shorter distances, and while they can work at higher speeds, I wouldn't say they are reliable at higher speeds. I will probably purchase some ratchet straps for a more secure fit.
