Pelican Pursuit 140 DLX Tandem Kayak 3.7 5 3 3
A Great Two Person Kayak I purchased the Pelican Pursuit 140T for my wife and I. We are novices in our 50s. It is a great kayak. Light, stable, we have never tipped over and priced right. The built in skeg was a surprise bonus. With it down it tracks straight as an arrow. We bought our paddles and lifejackets also at Dicks. The Seal T200 works as a great cockpit cover. It stretches the length of the cockpit but is a little to wide however the straps hold it on. With a bungee grabbing the front of the Seal T200, it remains secure up to 70 mph on the highway. The only down side, is the rear drain plug is very, very difficult to remove, the seats do not slide up or back and the Pelican emblems/badges are already falling off. Otherwise the kayak seems to be indestructible. We are having a great time using it and highly recommend this kayak It's a great value. Concerning the comment about water coming over the top. The kayak does ride low in the water. Weight of occupants and gear makes a giant difference. I would not load this kayak with the full 450 lb it is rated to hold unless you will be in completely calm water. We have found it to be a dry ride even on a windy, choppy lakes like Deep Water Creek in MD with the motor boats whizzing bye. June 21, 2012
Not a great design unless it's very calm Any waves find their way over the low cut side on this kayak. I own three other kayaks and all are superior in design to this one. No covers are available either. I had to have a cover custom made for it. July 16, 2011
Great Purchase [...]. We bought this Pelican yesterday and could not wait to get it out on the water. First thing today we woke up and took out on our local lake and I must say I was completely satisfied with this product. Tracks great and very stable also my wife wanted to just relax and get some sun so I did all the paddling and no problem at all. Cant wait to get back out on the lake tomorrow and do some fishing from this craft due to its stability. June 3, 2011
