Rated 5 out of 5 by great product I bought one last year for myolder grandaughter and this year bought another for her younger sibling. She put it on and wore it around the house for an hour. She wanted to go swimming but it's too cold rightnow. Great product and kids can't take it off. It connects in the back and is adjustable and comfortable allowing kids to move their arms freely. Rated 5 out of 5 by Stearns Puddle Jumper customer service was wonderful. I purchased this for my four year old grandson as he is still not sure of himself in the pool and water. It is awesome. Because it is United States Coast Guard approved we all feel more confident. Excellent much better than the inflatable water wings..... July 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by ABSOLUTE BEST! We were frst introduced to the puddle jumper by a friend of ours, our son loved having the freedom to paddle all over the pool. This summer we bought a house with a pool& the first thing we did was go out & buy one of these. My son is 5 and is still learning to swim, the puddle jumper gives him the mobility to practice his swim strokes, but also the security that he wont drown. I have read some of the bad reviews stating that the kids head kept slipping under water & that it floats the kids face down...I am not sure why this happened with them, the part that goes accross the front of the child is to keep them from floating face down, thats why it snaps in the back. Maybe this is better for a child who is on their way to being able to swim. We have never had any problems with this & have even suggested it to several friends who have all bought one & absolutely love them! Would reccomend this to anyone! July 12, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not so great We bought this for my daughter who just turned one. She's been a water lover from day one, so I thought this might give her a little independence from us or her float raft. We've tried using it about five times and each time she screams and flails around until we take it off. It floats her face down (Um that's a big no no, she's not a mermaid who can breathe underwater) or completely on her back. On her back it would be fine in an emergency situation ( I do believe it would keep her alive ) but it would have to be under perfect conditions, ie no waves. We bought it assuming it would float her upright and she could just bob along the pool with us, so we are disappointed with the product. June 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works well for the little ones! This works great for my 35 lb. 3 year old that does not know how to swim. He's learning that he can kick with this on and get around the pool. Keeps his head quite a bit above water. August 6, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by my boy loves it the arm holes are a bit tight even though it's for an older child. he doesn't know how to swim or hold his breath so this gives us something to hold on to and keep him close. July 31, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great little product It's not a lifesaving device. It's designed primarily for still water such as a lake or a pool. But be assured that you little swimmer will soon gain confidence wearing this. You may find that you'll have to watch them more closely as a result of them wearing the Puddle Jumper. July 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Safest way for children to swim My wife and I took our 2.5 yr old boy swimming with a regular childrens life vest at a local pool. Our Toddler got into the pool and was walking towards the deeper section of the pool. When his feet were not able to touch his head went forward into the water....very scary since he could not move his head back up. Long story short these types of floating devices give the children a better position for safety July 16, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Will use this again! I bought this for my 2 year old, as we were going to a birthday party at a local water park. It is super cute and our son didn't want to take it off! I think it worked extremely well in the kiddie pool area and did not limit his movement at all, however in the wave pool, it didn't help to keep his face above water. We were right next to him the entire time in the shallow end, but if he was rolled onto his back, his head would easily go under. He hasn't quite grasped the concept of swimming yet, so I think maybe this would be a better vest to use on an older child since they would understand to lean forward and hold their head out of the water. But, with that being said, our son had a great time in the kiddie pool with it, which was about 1' of water all around and it helped keep him above water when he went down the slides. Unless your child has the basic understanding of swimming, I would go with a regular vest for deep water. July 16, 2012
