Compass for use in car Good product for intended use which is to find alternatives to gps recommended route May 31, 2014
Silva Companion 609 Compass I returned this item as it was too sensitive to surroundings. It gave false readings a lot. It does not allow you to turn the dial to different headings at the top. At same price I found one at a competitor that had much better functionality. May 13, 2014
compass This compass is not accurate. I believe it's a waste of money. I gave to my daughter as a toy. November 21, 2013
Decent Not bad for the price, it points both north and south at the same time, pretty cool!! September 10, 2013
it allways a spare compass on hand this compass is good for my bob or inch bag it small to fit any were this compass is good for buging out i have on my zipper all the time it ther when i need it July 6, 2013
cheap, simple, reliable. Not the most feature filled compass, but cheap, in price not quality. If your a hiker, camper, hunter or putting together a bug out / F.E.M.A. 72 hour bag, this is a good choice for a bare minimum/budget compass. But treat it gentle. July 4, 2013
Great Value I went to Dick's to buy a compass that was small enough for my key chain and one I could use for the outdoors. This compass is accurate and is very good for the price. July 4, 2013
Inexpensive, functional I was looking for a small compass I could carry around in my pocket every day, and I found one. This little Silva is slim and easy to carry, and isn't obtrusive in the pocket. You could easily wear it around your neck on a lanyard, but I think it's too large to wear every day or to carry on your keys. It reliably and quickly finds North, and the needle stabilizes quickly. For serious orienteering or navigation, I would go with a proper map or lensatic compass, but for occasional or emergency use, this little unit works great. The price was fantastic too. Very easy to use and accurate Very easy to use and accurate, used it when I went hiking and it worked perfectly. August 1, 2012
Where am I going? Simple and inexpensive, tiny and so easy to carry and read, but yet seems to work pretty well. I think Bear Gryll uses one. =) June 11, 2012
