This compass is not accurate. I believe it's a waste of money. I gave to my daughter as a toy.

Not the most feature filled compass, but cheap, in price not quality. If your a hiker, camper, hunter or putting together a bug out / F.E.M.A. 72 hour bag, this is a good choice for a bare minimum/budget compass. But treat it gentle.

I went to Dick's to buy a compass that was small enough for my key chain and one I could use for the outdoors. This compass is accurate and is very good for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by av8r1 Inexpensive, functional
I was looking for a small compass I could carry around in my pocket every day, and I found one. This little Silva is slim and easy to carry, and isn't obtrusive in the pocket. You could easily wear it around your neck on a lanyard, but I think it's too large to wear every day or to carry on your keys. It reliably and quickly finds North, and the needle stabilizes quickly. For serious orienteering or navigation, I would go with a proper map or lensatic compass, but for occasional or emergency use, this little unit works great. The price was fantastic too.

Simple and inexpensive, tiny and so easy to carry and read, but yet seems to work pretty well. I think Bear Gryll uses one. =)
