Rated 4 out of 5áby Wittal Conduit could use a seat re-design I am new to kayaking and had tried a few before finding this Perception Conduit 12'11" on sale. First it was backordered...but eventually did arrive within 2 weeks. The semi driver did deliver it right to my door. And he helped move it onto my yard. It was wrapped in a thick sheet of bubblewrap plastic that was torn and there were a few scratches on it....but not deep. When paddling it , it tracks pretty well and feels right in my inexperience. Except for the seat back. The seat adjustment is plastic and does not lock up well. If I lean back hard to arch my back, the whole back pops under the deck rim and I have to reach back and pull it back up. It also adjusts itself at times during power paddling...but I'm 120 lbs and 5 feet 1" so I cant imagine I have overpowered this kayak. July 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Heavyd719 WOW I moved up to the conduit 13.0 from the Swifty 9.6 deluxe, I knew there would be a difference but WOW. The Conduit 13 is comfortable, well built, easy to paddle, and fairly nimble given it's size. I have had it out every day since I purchased it on a local lake. Every time I hit the water I find even more to be impressed with, the biggest thing was how fast it is compared to my Swifty, and how effortless it is to move quickly. The seat is comfortable and the back rest is adjustable in both angle and height. there are two bulk heads and two sealed storage areas with enough space for a few days worth of gear, making this a great entry level kayak for someone looking to get into kayak camping. The initial stability isn't as nice as my Swifty, but it's by no means unstable, as you are able to control the role of the boat side to side very easily. Tracking as you would expect with a longer boat is a vast improvement over the Swifty, while not perfect you are able to maintain your direction with relative ease, yet turning the boat takes little effort. The ability to add a rudder if you want will take tracking into the pure touring boat level. the boat does have some weight to it taking it to and from the lake, but once on the water you hardly notice it at all. Overall, I think if you are looking for a boat that can expand your horizons to a multitude of water ways and push your level of paddling to new heights, then you owe it to yourself to get this boat. It will take you where ever you want to go with confidences and ease. July 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Wanderer79 Excellent Kayak So I've had this kayak for a few weeks now and have put over 40 water miles on it so far, mostly river, but some lake. This thing is a dream for beginners, and the experienced alike. It cuts a nice path in the water, is very stable over rapids (class 2-3 so far) and waves in Great Lake Erie and is pretty fast too. My brother (same body build but in an older perception kayak) could not keep up with me as I "surfed" the waves in heading inland on Lake Erie. The storage compartments are awesome and will prove their worth when I get around to a multi day trip. Hopefully this summer. It's pretty comfortable to sit long hours in but I find I still need to stretch after 2-3. Perhaps more padding in the seat is what's needed. If this is your first purchase, or you're just looking to tour around with something different, I highly recommend this kayak as it fits most needs. You can tour in it, fish from it (tho no rod holders are built in), and it's not too bulky or 'specifically designed' to prevent the recreational uses either. I find that I keep looking for reasons to hit the water, and this kayak makes that excuse so much easier! Happy paddling! June 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Cameron97 I LOVE this kayak! This kayak is great in a lot of different ways! If you want a kayak that can be used for rivers as well as ocean, this is the one for you! It has excellent storage. Seat is very adjustable, and hull seems very strong. When I first bought this kayak however there was a pretty nasty dent in the hull. However the fantastic customer service as Dicks Sporting Goods helped me get it replaced, the very same day I brought it in! Once again Dicks customer service really is great! I have had no problems at all with my replacement. May 24, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5áby JK excellent deal I've been kayaking for 18 yrs and have owned a Carolina 15.5 for appx 10 yrs. This conduit 13 is perfect for lake , back river, and also limited excursions into the ocean. Bought one for my wife and she loves it. I took hers for a test paddle and was so impressed I bought one for myself. It handles very well, is responsive to turns and tracks well on long straights. The molded eyelets for deck rigging are a great idea. I'm not sure why perception didn't do it sooner. It has all the options of my Carolina at half the price .. Great Deal August 27, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5áby H2OChris Disappointed I bought the last one of these that my Dick's store in Madison had, and it was unfortunately damaged. The bulkhead had torn away from the hull, and so Dick's offered to order me one (a 2-week wait) or take the one they had for a discounted price. I took the floor model, bought some marine sealant, and fixed the bulkhead. Now, however, the boat has a tendency to turn right, so much so that I'll turn a 180 if I stop paddling and don't attempt to correct the turn. I called the manufacturer (Confluence Water Sports) and they wanted nothing to do with me, suggesting I return the boat to Dick's. I thought I might be able to avoid this hassle, but I guess not. Rated 4 out of 5áby Barry Very nice kayak for the money I have owned this kayak for 3 years, and have, for the most part, been extremely satisfied. I would call it a hybrid recreational / touring kayak with good characteristics of each type. It is very roomy, and extremely stable - you would have to work pretty hard to dump this boat - yet it has reasonably good speed and tracking as well. I use it primarily for fishing on inland lakes, but will regularly get out onto Lake Erie on (very) calm days. The Conduit handles a moderate swell, and it still didn't feel tippy, but you will still, very quickly realize that this is not a sea kayak. I plan on building a Pygmy kit kayak soon, but I will still hang onto this boat for fishing, and short trips with my wife. June 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Death_Dealer425 Best kayak on Dicks for the money I was looking for a touring style kayak without breaking the bank. This is pretty much the only option I have found, and I couldn't have made a better choice. I am a large guy, 6' tall and 250 lbs, and the kayak fits and floats me and my gear well, I tend to feel like my legs are quite cramped in tighter kayaks. Seat is quite comfortable, was mounted off square when it arrived but was an easy fix to sort out. Good back support, can go on longer trips paddling hard up river and do not feel the need to get out to stretch for at least 2 hours. The storage is great, I use mine for river fishing, paddling upstream and then floating back, So I take rods, reels and other tackle, along with extra clothing, med-kit, survival kit, food, drink, and sometimes a small propane stove when wanting a nice dinner and still have plenty of room to spare. No kayak storage is perfect, some small amounts of water can get in, but it's slight moisture at most in a one day trip, dry bags are still a must if bringing sensitive gear. I mounted two flush mount rod holders just behind the cockpit, forward of the rear bulkhead, and they fit perfectly. Measure in every direction before you cut, if you add holders like this however, they just barely fit. Excellent stability as well, easy to hold on edge, tracks well in current, wind does like to turn it a bit, you can add a rudder kit if necessary, I will most likely make a homemade skeg to fit in the rudder assembly area for windy conditions. This kayak is also quite fast, I am able to push up through riffles and faster water as long as I pick good lines through, and maintaining a good cruising forward speed requires very little effort. I have slammed off of several large rocks at relatively high speeds going down stream and the kayak maintains good stability and the plastic is tough and retains it's shape. I hope to keep be enjoying this kayak for many many years to come. June 9, 2014
