Rated 5 out of 5 by Row'dent2013 Old Towne Guide 169 This was my first ever canoe that I bought to start canoeing with family. First time I used it on the Shenandoah River it preformed excellent. Me, my son and grandson, plus all of our gear, tent, sleeping bags, food, water and just about everything else, chairs, Fishing tackle, this canoe is the best. After a three day trip on the river I thought the bottom would have more dings and scrapes but to my surprise it do not. Never once did I feel like we would tip. I highly recommend this canoe. Rated 5 out of 5 by let the good times flow its hualed more gear, cooolers, firewood, and loved-ones more than once purchased the same model in 1994 at Dicks for ? $750.00 my Dad asked me why i would pay so much for a boat without a motor? him not understanding the places i went and the fun everyone had while paddling along. He is no longer with me at this time other than the memories, but i still have my red 169 and looks the same except a few scrapes and bruises which they all healed and is the best toy, BOAT, i ever purchased May 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jason76 Great Canoe! I bought this canoe last summer (2012) for a multi day float trip with my son and some buddies. I've been floating since I was a kid but this is my first canoe i have owned. Best purchase I ever made. You can haul a lot of stuff with this canoe and fit another kid in the middle. Very stable canoe, never felt like we were going to tip. These canoes are bullet proof. Great value for the money. I got mine on sale for $699.99. Half the price of an Old Town Discovery 169 and it's the same canoe. Highly recommend this canoe. April 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Muskie Man AWESOME!!!!!! This is my third Old Town Guide purchase.I have a 171 and two 169.I do it all from 3-4 day camping and fishing trips on the green river to meeting my buddies in N.Georgia for some class 3,4 and 5 rapids on the Cartecay,Coosawattee and Ocoee rivers. Most people don't run these large rapids in open deck canoes but i gotta tell ya,it's Awesome. The Old Town Guide 169 is the best canoe on the market,it's a little pricey at 799.00 but i picked up mine yesterday at Dick's Sporting Goods,it was on sell for 750.00.It's the only canoe on the market with a triple hull and it will not leak.I'm a big guy at 250lbs and 6'2 and carry a lot af gear coolers, tent, camp stove, fishing poles, battery, trolling motor and this bad boy glides through the water with ease. It's rated for 1400+lbs and would hold every bit of it.My kids love the cloud camo paint scheme.
