Rated 1 out of 5 by Not For Running in the Rain!!!! I loved this watch and all of its great features when I first purchased it. Unfortunately, I live in Pittsburgh PA where the winter weather is unpredictable (rain, snow, sleet, hail...). This watch just cannot hold up to running here in the rainy/wet weather. I called to see if maybe this was just defective lemon but apparently thsi watch is NOT WATER PROOF despite what the directions may lead you to believe. Please save your money and purchase a better watch if you live in a rainy/wet climate area. Nike still makes some of the best products around, this is just not one of them. December 31, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Fogging inside the display I really like the look of this watch and also the fit. It really worked great for my purposes while it worked. I run regularly. 4-5 times a week at least five miles per run. I live in Portland, Oregon. Yes, it rains here during the winter. Since Nike is based in Oregon you would think they would be able to develop a running watch that would withstand running in the rain. After three months the watch becomes so fogged up inside that it stops working. I thought maybe I got a lemon and exchanged it for another. Strike two. The exact same thing happened. Could it be I just got a bad one again? Exchange again. Strike three! Same thing happened. This is normal usage. This is not abusive use or unreasonable demands I am putting on this watch. It states in the instructions that this watch should be able to withstand running in the rain. I so wanted to love this watch. So if you live somewhere where it is dry as a desert bone and you do not sweat when working out, then this watch is perfect for you. I love the way it easily connects to the computer to upload your info. I love the website. I just can't say I love the watch. If I hear in the future they have figured out what the problem is then I will absolutely buy this watch again. Until then I cannot recommend this watch. Dang it. I really did want to love this watch. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Watch I bought this watch to help me start training for longer distances and couldn't be happier. It is very easy to use and the display is clear and easy to see while running. I am also a fan of the Nike interface on the computer that gives you a pace break down by mile and allows you to set challenges for your self. It does occasionally take a few minuets to find the satellites but once it does I have never had an issue with it loosing them and am pleased with the accuracy. The only Issue I had was while running I fell landing on the watch scratching and chipping the face. Nike customer service was phenomenal and they are sending me a new watch free of charge since I am still in my warranty period! I would highly recommend this product . September 29, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by A little disappointing I purchased this watch so i could log my miles for my High School Running career. After many months with this watch, 10 months to be exact, i found that the seal that keeps the watch water tight was breached. I have never gone in the pool with this watch in fear that it would break. I don't sweat a lot either so I'm not sure how the seal was breached. At first it posed little to no problems, sometimes the screen would fog up and I could barely read what was on the screen. This only happened two or three times. However, more recently, the screen has gone completely blurry from the fog and has stayed like that for hours on end. Additionally, the watch has stopped charging and every time that I have tried to plug it into my computer, the usb isn't recognized. I still have the year warranty, but I am sad that this watch has such bad build quality. Now on to the better part of this watch. The gps feature is awesome. Running with the other guys is easier know because we can keep a constant pace by just looking at the watch and adjusting our speed. Also i like how many runs the watch could hold. August 16, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by i love this BUT.. I love what this watch does, but this is the 3rd one in about as many months. I keep getting moisture (totally fogs up the screen) under the digital readout...not sure what I am doing wrong..I love it, but I am hoping 3rd time is charm...I have had other nike watches with no problems? I assume this is waterproof, I wear it running in the rain, indoor cycling and other classes where I am working hard and sweating hard...? disappointed in that October 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by GPS Watch I had a nike plus wrist band and I wanted to get more accurate running information, yet not loose my milage and personal bests. I was worried this would be complicated, but even a luddite like myself can use it very easily. It shows an accurate map where I run even in the trails way off the beaten path. I ran on a trip to Oregon and it even showed the road in a never developed shopping center. My information was all transferred from my Nike plus site. The only trouble I had was because I did a night race and I could not see! I turned on the stopwatch instead of the run. Lol, but that's just user error. I go slower than my old wristband said and my mileage was slightly off as well. But, I wanted this accuracy. Soon, I will go faster! October 30, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed I have loved using the Nike+ app on my iPhone and was excited to try the SportWatch. I had been using the app for a couple years without the chip, and I wanted something for when I ran without my phone. I was getting tired of always lugging it around, and needed something as I've become more serious about running this past year. However, I found myself disappointed. The watch really only works when I link the it with my Nike+ chip. I have yet to be able to run using the GPS only feature. This was THE reason I purchased the watch. I have Vibram Five Fingers that I run in frequently, but I'm unable to track my Vibram runs because there is no way to attach the chip. Secondly, even when I run with the chip, it doesn't accurately keep the distance. I ran a half marathon and by mile 8, my watch had lost a of a quarter mile. This is a problem when I'm trying to pace myself and to set a PR. I will be returning the watch for a Garmin. November 17, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by No heart rate monitor The watch has nice features. However, you need to purchase an additional product for the heart rate application to work. The description does not elude to that and is a misrepresentation of the actual functionality of the watch. Save your money and buy the less expensive Nike watch. I can't recommend this product because of this issue. May 26, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by returned 2 times It worked for a while, then had to replace with a new one. The second one only worked for about a month, and has just been replaced again. Was hoping for better from NIke. March 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by relieved and excited I bought this watch to help me on training trail runs. I run a lot on th trails but never knew exactly how far I had run. I was worried it might not stay linked to the GPS satellite under all o the tree cover through the woods. I was very happy and relieved that it has worked perfectly on several runs so far. The features are very easy to use and helpful to someone like me who is training for marathons...average pace one of them. It easily connects to computer to graph my runs. Only feature I am not totally satisfied with is the fact it has to charge through the computer, I wish I could use a regular phone charger. August 7, 2013
