Use it at home and camping - wife drinks decaf so I like to make a separate pot on the home cook top - the coffee comes out much hotter because I like to "cook" it on a low simmer after initial boil for about 8 - 10 min - this also prevents the strainer from over flowing. Coffee tastes much better/stronger than drip systems. You must use a coarse ground . Also the strainer and base are all polished stainless steel NOT aluminum like a lot of cheaper purc pots at camping supply places. I have not had issues with spot welds but, I could see where this could occur and be a problem. Quality of the wooden handle is ok. Came with an extra glass capsule for top - you can also order replacement caps on Amazon for around $2.
Pot makes about 4-5 standard size mug fulls.

I recently tried this coffee percolator and am quite pleased with it. It has stainless steel for durability and no leaching. The coffee brews in about 15 minutes or slightly less and comes with an extra glass bulb for the top in case you break the original. It should work great camping or power outage.

I am satisified with my purchase.Having the glass top let's you see that it is percolating. The one problem with any percolating pots is that coffe is ground finer for electric machines with finer filter systems. So,expect some grinds in your cup.I would buy this one over other I have used.

This percolator worked great on our camping trip. I advise taking the basket out before you pour the coffee, or you'll have grounds. Fresh brewed coffee was wonderful. The woooden handle is a nice benefit, but you'll still need a pot holder to take it off the fire. My only complaint would be that I would have preferred larger capacity, we had to make x2 to serve our group.
