Rated 5 out of 5 by BJJstudent Best brace for BJJ
I've been rolling with a sprained wrist for a couple years. I tried the common drug store brand wrist guards, but they offer too little support, or the construction can't stand up to the type of abuse you put it through while grappling. I've been using the Shock Doctor 3 strap brace for a couple of weeks and I've made a few observations:
1. The brace offers excellent support: the rigid inserts are good enough to prevent reinjuring my sprain. My wrist actually feels almost normal again. I've even started using gi grips that I normally avoid.
2. Low profile: it is barely noticeable to myself and training partners. It isn't perfect, but I've received almost no complaints about it being uncomforable from my training partners.
3. Quality of construction: the other braces I've tried have been made with thinner cloth material with inferior stitching. The rigid inserts would eventually tear through the material rendering them useless. It's only been a couple weeks, but the insert pocket seems to be reinforced and has held up well. Although this is about $10-15 more than a typical brace, I expect it to last longer than the other braces.
4. Smell: I put it under the faucet for about 5-10 seconds after each use and it still smells new. It hasn't taken on the gym smell that all my other gear has.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ali Khat Great product, really expensive
this is a fantastic product for wrist support, however it's extremely expensive and you aren't always gaurunteed to find both the right and left wrists...they're sold seperately. If you don't need both then you might not be able to find the correct size for the wrist you need. On another note they run kind of small, so I would try them on before buying them. I personally appreciate the compression it offers, but the thumb strap rubbed a blister on my hand while I was kayaking...I lift weights but have small wrists, and as far as that goes they're perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Paulie Excellent for tennis
Excellent support and versatile -- the best I've found for tennis. Support "sticks" can be removed for less support.

My son sprained his wrist and I had him wear this splint. It's simple to put on and was able to keep his wrist straight and prevent him from bending it. It is lite and not bulky at all.

Bought this for a wrist injury sustained by hyper-extending my wrist backwards. Gives good support preventing your wrist from moving too far back while allowing full range of motion in the fingers and thumb.

Have a sprain where whenever I do bench press or exercises that require pressure on my wrist or moves it slightly back. Bought this and immediately I was able to bench press pain free and lift weights with little to no pain. Great support, great product. Def recommend.
